View Full Version : PM9 first time out

I ran 200 rounds of WWB 115 gr through a new PM9 today. At around round #60, I had a nose down failure to feed. Other than that, no problems with either mag. The FTF was with the 6 round mag. I'm very pleased with the way the little gun handles and mildly surprised at the accuracy.
Do you folks think the FTF will be a one-time thing? And is it less likely to happen with +P SD ammunition?
BTW, I found a neat deal on Gunbroker-- one 50-round box each of RA9124TP, P9HST3, and Speer 53617 for 100 bucks shipped. If anybody's interested, I'll post his GB user name.

Welcome to Kahrtalk!
Well, if it is truly a one time thing then it can't happen with +P SD ammo or any other ammo for that matter. With my recent 200 round break-in I had no nose down problems with two brands (Remington &WWB) of 115 grain FMJ but lots of premature slide lock back issues with my Black Hills 124 +P HP SD ammo. My hope is that your FtF has been the beginning and the end of issues with your gun.
Good luck with your SD ammo and please keep us posted.

Thanks a lot, Bill. Only casualty of the day was a slightly bloody thumb from 30 magazine loadings, so that's a good thing. I'll post the results from the three brands of SD ammo after I receive them in a week or so.

u know that one time thing, could have also been a tired shooter to . The FTF could have occured because you might have been somewhat tired and then things start to change , grip changes, etc. So chalk it up to break in and just move on with it and don't worry about it. No one can perceived the future..

Yeah, I could have limp-wristed one. And I realize no one can perceive the future. I was wondering if people had one or more similar FTFs early in break-in, followed by clear sailing. Also was wondering if higher pressure ammunition makes such a failure less likely.

We've heard of examples of both, a few have lots of issues and they go away after break in. Some don't go away. Others have a perfect break in and develop issues later. No logicial sequence really.
In my experience Kahrs like and thrive on the higher pressure ammo so I would agree that the failure is less likely using defense loads.
They like a good solid grip, generally are not ammo sensitive but it's a very small package with a lot happening in a short time so theres lots of variables that can sometimes mess with things.
Usually they just run like a fine swiss ?? Kahr.

Think Uplula to address the magazine loadings. The fellas in this forum talked me into it. Very glad they did. Best gun accessory I ever bought. Makes loading magazines not just easy, but in fact trivial.

I've never seen that movie. Plus, I forgot that I was supposed to be Miss Melanie.
The Uplula sounds like an excellent idea.

Awww, you gotta see it. Awesome movie. Great scenery. Spur (one of Kirk Douglas's roles) is my hero. Australia (before the gun grab). Excellent. Now you gotta see it so you know I speak the truth, the hole truth and nothing but the truth so help me Dietrich.
Theres sales from time to time on the Uplula's. Everybody keep your eyes peeled. (ever wonder what a peeled eye looks like exactly?)

The best price on the Uplula I've found so far is $28 + shipping.

dawg,
First off. Congrats on the gun and I'm glad to hear it's shootin' well for ya! I've got a 9094N ordered and I enjoy reading trouble free ( everything is relative ) reports such as yours.
Bawanna and melissa. You two don't back off, we'll have to get the chaperones, today they call them moderators, involved.;)
Had to check out those UpHulas.:typing: I NEED that! Any online dealer that sells at a reasonable price is sold out. If you go through Rogue blah blah blah.com--- they'll sell ya one for $42:33:I'll load my own, 'til my fingers fall off, before I pay some shister almost twice what some dealers are asking. Anyway, the UpLULA looks like a great product. I think I'll get the baby version for my wife. I'm trying to ease her into shooting and a reloader may just help with a .22 or .380.

Abbott: Goofè Dean. Well, let's see, we have on the bags, Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know is on third...
Costello: That's what I want to find out.
Abbott: I say Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third.
Costello: Are you the manager?
THAT is funny stuff! If you don't get a laugh out of that----you're brain dead.
Take care

I wish I had feeling in my East Timor, or my West Timor for that matter. Haven't felt either for 16 years.
