Hi Everyone,

Name's Jon and I'm a first time poster here but I frequent plenty of other forums.

I'm the proud new owner of a CW-40, SN ZB12xx.

After a quick strip to clean it up I noticed the feed ramp and throat look a little ... unusual. Can you Kahr experts tell me if this looks OK?

ramp 1 (http://webpages.charter.net/stonedog/pics/kahr1.jpg)
ramp 2 (http://webpages.charter.net/stonedog/pics/kahr3.jpg)
chamber (http://webpages.charter.net/stonedog/pics/kahr2.jpg)

Also, when I disassembled the mag a piece of the follower fell out. Apparently the trailing piece under the front of the follower broke off. Is this common in CW-40s? I'll be calling Kahr tomorrow to ask about a repalcement, but I want to make sure this isn't going to be an ongoing issue.

Thanks

Jon

I believe the offset is normal. That looks a lot like my new one. But, it sure could use some polishing.

Broken followers happen, at least to me. You should get decent mileage out of them and Kahr will usually replace them, at least for the 1st owner, so it's worth a call.

Oh, and because the rough marks are parallel to the travel of the bullet up the ramp, they may not matter. The standard advice is take it to the range and shoot it. There are a couple of "sticky" messages in the Kahr-Tech section that describe preparation and lubrication. It's worth performing the few quick steps suggested. http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521 http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=308

And finally, Welcome to the forum! We hope you enjoy your Kahr.

Thank you for the welcome, and thanks for the pointers.

I just called Kahr and spoke with Ian. I explained the broken follower and he's sending out a replacement. Great customer service!!

Also checked on the serial number. It's a ZB12XX and was built in May of 2007 so it's not as old as I thought it might be.
