Hi All,

I'm a new owner of a CW-40. While I haven't shot it yet I have a feel I will prefer practicing with lower-power loads. I've mixed up a batch of 165gr ammo using a minimum Clays charge. It's a soft shooter in my big XD40 and is my range ammo of choice. What are the chances this will reliably cycle the tight little CW-40?

As a "general" rule, Kahrs don't function as well with light loads, however I use a middle of the road load (6.3 gr of Unique with a 165 gr Montana Gold) in my CW40 and it works quite well.

I do use the slower powders, i.e. Universal Clays and Unique, in 40S&W loads due to the higher pressure of the round.
I just put 100 rounds through my CW40 and a G23 this morning in fact.
I now have ~1000 rounds through the CW40 and it seems to get better with age. They are extremely tight when new though.
Got one of those XD40sc awhile back and that thing is a shooter as well.

Welcome:) and good luck with the CW40 they're great little guns.
