I don't think my PM9 likes Magtech ammo. I had 6 failures in 50 rounds, but I think two were caused by limp-wristing. The rest were nose dives in the 7 and 8 rounds mags. The Magtech seemed to have quite a little kick to it...more so than Federal Champion, Fiocchi, or WWB. I also bought a Uplula and highly recommend them.

Next week, I'm going to call Kahr about exchanging the 8-round mag for another 7 rounder.

Last, I have decided to keep the CT laser. It is too good of a training tool to sell it.

Good for you Ms Melissa. I never cared for that mag tech stuff myself. Some here have no issues with it and like it but it never did anything good for me.

You were quick on that uplula purchase and that no doubt helped save the fingers and thumbs.

You mentioned yesterday the need to shoot something. I'm glad you had a chance to get that checked off the list.

Yep, I also shot my AR15 and ISSC .22lr. The .22 is very Glock-like and I've been using it to work on distance shooting. Most of the time I shoot from 7 yards with the 9's and .45.

There's a cow pasture behind my house and if I ever catch the owner there, I intend to ask him if I can shoot the .22 on his land. Been thinking about getting some of those steel spinner targets if he says OK.

I had to get the Uplula because I was getting a callus on my soft girly hands. :p

Melissa5,

8 round mags? Thought there was just 6s & 7s, no?

I bought a lightly used P9 not long ago. I had several boxes of MAGTECH jhp and fmj which caused numerous feeding/ejection issues. In checking the overall length, I found the MAGTECH rounds to be significantly longer. If that was an issue in a P9, it's probably magnified in a PM9. No other manufacturer ammo caused a problem.

Thanks for that info. I've got one more box of Magtech and will use it with my Glocks.

The 8-rounder is really for a K9 I think, but it fits in the PM9...just a little longer than the 7s.

It's funny how we all get different results with ammo. I've used Magtech JHP in my PM9 and it has been flawless. It does give quite a kick though...and loud. Accuracy with it was quite good as well. I only use the 6 round mag.

That's cuz you don't have "soft girly hands". ;)

I had failures with a K9 running Magtech. I thought it was something with the gun but when I switched ammo; chomp, chomp, chomp....
