Yesterday I received a Comp-Tac Infidel holster for my new K9. The Infidel is a Kydex holster who's design is about as simple as it can get. While there are different attachment options, I opted for the simple belt clip. I have this same model holster for most of my pistols and one revolver. Anyway, I put that K9 on my hip and was immediately reminded of how long I've been living in Polymer Land. The K9 is one healthy hunk of steel. I'm not complaining mind you. I knew the K9 would be chunky, but knowing it on an intellectual level and feeling it are certainly different things.

When MW Surveyor get's back to town, I look forward to punishing some paper with the K9. Surv, if you see this, as you recommended, I orderd a batch of Federal ammo and I think it comes with brass cases. Maybe you can stock up on some once fired brass.

Let us know how you like the Infidel after you carry it for while. I have their Minotaur IWB holster with their standard clips and I'm really happy with it. It never completely "disappears" on my side, but it is certainly comfortable enough to carry all day long.

Wait until you shoot your K9.:D Soon, that extra heft will seem inconsequential.

Bill - Hope to be back in Houston on this coming Saturday. Was planning to go to the range the week of the 11th but not on Monday. Let me know what day is good for you. I've just got to see if there is anything else in store for me during that week. The Federals should work ok. They are not the best but they are good for target practice and I've never had a problem with them in any of my 9 mms. Course I only have two at the moment.;) I'm not sure of the size of the K9 but I belive that most of the time, a heavier gun shoots better (at least for me it does).

Well, I want to come too.

I'll have to see what last second flights are costing these days.

You'd be welcome Mikey but be advised we like to ogle the ankles when we shoot.

Mikey, how do you know about Cabrini Greens? I know about those projects because Chicago was my home. I will never forget the violence that took place in those and other government housing projects in Chicago.

Are you speaking of violence inflicted with shovels and bags of walnuts? I know guns are illegal in Chicago so at least there is not any gun violence.

Well, why did you think I was looking at flights, did you think I would want to shoot with you guys?!? ;) I remember hearing about the stories of the cute ankles and also, uncle Bawanna asked if I could come verify. Trust but verify. And take pictures. Uncle Bawanna doesn't like to travel by air but he's definitely interested in ankles.

As for Chicago, I've got family that live nearby - Lincoln Park. I remember driving through that area and always making sure the locks were down - multiple times.

Anybody is welcome to come shooting (and look at ankles). Weekends are the best for this (looking at ankles) but, its pretty crowded on the weekends.

Bill has a good technic for looking at ankles. He goes off the line and sits down in a chair while he loads every magazine that he has. That way he's got the best of both worlds. Shooting, reloading while checking out the ankles, then shooting again. Took me a while to figure out his method! :)

...and I'm sure he takes his dear sweet time loading those magazines, making sure each ankle, er, bullet, is set just right.
