Hi all. The P380 seems to be getting quite a bit of attention so I figured I'd let everyone know how it's going with my new one. I have a PM 9 that has proven perfectly reliable (except with that 7 round magazine which now resides in a NH landfill), so I have some idea about the piece. Some good info has come from this forum, thanks. I bought this little mousegun knowing I had a potential "project gun" on my hands. But, that was no big deal. I have little need to carry something so small and my ugly little LCP has proven itself reliable if I do need to. I just love my PM9 and if the P 380 could prove as reliable it would be a nice bonus. So the first day:
First 25 Federal AE=0 problems
Second 25 Federal AE=1 failure to feed, and a couple light primer strikes
Third 25 Remington UMC= didn't get through past 15, gun didn't like these and one third failed to feed
Fourth 25 WWB= Got through the 25 but had a couple nosedives and one ftrtb that was probably my thumb hitting the slide release.
That's it so far. I plan to shoot 13 or 26 at a time then clean it, because, well because if I need more than that many reliable rounds downrange at one time, I've gotten myself into something where I deserve to have a problem. Will keep posted as I go along because I'm sure there are still a few people out there on the fence about this little gun. Oh, about the gun: I really hope it turns out to be reliable because it is a nice little thing and the trigger is exceptional, similar to my PM9. Feel free to comment on anything I've said here. I plan to clean it with Break Free and canned air then lube it with Rem Oil, since that's what I've got on hand and I'm not headed near a town for a few days. I'll check in here to see if that's a particularly bad combination for this little gun. Has been fine for my Glocks and PM9 though.
