Was a very small allen set screw.
Have an early K9 with "old" style sights.
How is the rear sight removed?
There appears to be a set screw in the center of the rear sight, but no tools I have will fit.
Sight on Kahr's webpage seem to no longer be of this design.

It could be an after market sight, most factory sights thatI have seen don't come with a set screw. It is usually a very small allen tool required.. Iwould soak it alittle with some penetrating oil before trying to turn that screw even, as it wold be easy to strip the head off the allen or mayvbe even ruin your tool.

After the set screw is removed, the sight is pushed left to right. I agree, it is probably an aftermarket or optional sight. The MMC sights on my T9 have a tiny set screw.

The front sight on this early K9 also has a hole in the center of the dovetail and a corresponding post on the bottom of the front sight.

the front sight goes into a dovetail and still has a post on the sight. Humm, how does that happen. unless the post comes up from the inside of the slide, there is no way for a sight to slide into that dovertail with a post sticking out the bottom of it. OR am I just reading your post wrong.:banplease:
If I had to guess, maybe this slide was milled for a front dovetail sight and when the slide left kahr, it just had a post front sight on it, similar to the cw series kahrs. Whattcha think here guys..

The front sight may have been installed with a post coming up from within the slide and swaged in place similar to a 1911 front sight.
The hole in the middle of the front sight dovetail is drilled all the way thru.
Sights are identical to the "old' style sights offered by Kahr.
This guns factory box is dated 03/95.
