That's right folks, my wife is coming to Kahrtalk, and with her a shiny new CW45. This means that I can get my P45 back. now y'all play nice with her (at least for a little while). Her name is jdlott74 and she should be along in a little bit.
FYI, took her new toy out, broke it in with no issues (did have an annoying occurrence though, not the gun's fault), then I put a limb saver grip sleeve on and let her shoot it. That one is problem free.
That annoyance: burning gun powder flying back to hit me on the arm, and once in the face, not every round but a couple.
Forgot to add, that shiny new came with neither the notch or the bevel. Since I had no issues, I'm going to leave it alone. I will round the slide stop though, I forgot how unwieldy the stock ones are.

Tell her to watch out for Bawanna. He'll try to marry her! :p
I like the limb saver grips also.

Meh, he can have her. She likes the grips he made for my 1911. She like the limbsavers, but I just don't know, they add a lot of girth. I'll have to shoot hers with them before I make up my mind.

Thanks everybody for the welcome. LOVE my gun CW45. It shoots GREAT. Hubby may have had some issues with flying gun powder but I didn't have any issues with it. I have shot a .40 caliber in Kahr but didn't like it because of the kick. I was skeptical about getting the .45 and was thinking it might be too much for me, but as usual, I need to listen to the hubby about things like that. He is more experienced and well versed about guns than I am. With the renewed membership at the gun range, I'm sure we'll try to get there as much as possible. Luckily we can save a lot by going on Fridays with family night.

Like I said, the burning powder that came back on a few rounds singed some fur. My wife actually came in after that to shoot it, while she did I was watching our child.

Agreed Jocko. With DH schedule it's hard to get out to the range much, so Friday nights are the better nights for us, added bonus of less expensive. 3 year old is starting to be taught about them as well. We bought her a Nerf Gun last weekend and DH has been going over the basics. When she's acting like she's shopping, she says she's going to Cheaper Than Dirt....
I love my 45. Don't get me wrong, I like shooting all the hubby's .45's BUT the Llama is okay, LOVE the grips Bawanna did for them, but prefer my .45

A CW 45! Very nice choise, very nice.
Welcome to the forum, it's pretty nice here.
Don't worry too much about Bwanna, (I'm surprised he hasn't yet weighed in) he's a good guy when he's sober.
Maybe he's not here yet cause he can't make bail?

Geez, I turn my back for a few hours sleep, wake up and dutifully check kahrtalk and theres a bajillion post and all this overnight.
We're sure glad to have you here Ms Jdlott, and don't you believe none of the propoganda these guys spread about me. Them grips for Jocko weren't pink, they were more of an agua with a slight pinkish tint. I was so proud.
45's rock and you've proven that many who think they are too much are wrong. AND way more pleasant to shoot than the fire breathing 40, although I got a couple of those too just to fit in with the gang.
Jlott is a brave man and I gotta believe your the first married couple both members of kahrtalk. He's the one that will have to watch his P's and Q's me thinks. The rest of us will be nice or be responsible for our actions.
Don't worry on that marrying thing neither, at least till ya get at least 25 post, or maybe 15.

Bawanna, I"m definately loving my 45 a LOT better than the Taurus 24/7 ProC. 40 that I had. The Taurus was a little bit more heavy than I like. I used to be a revolver girl, but now that hubby has me hooked on the auto's, it might be hard to get me in a revolver now. Although I DO want pink grips...Might have to get something to customize for me Bawanna

If I talked like that I'd put the noose around my neck and wait for the push from the top of the stairs. It frightens me to hear you talk like that. Your's packs a gun too. Might be better quick and painless versus the slow painful death by nagging I get on a regular basis.

and if any person be it male or female calls my Harley Davidson a fokking scooter, well I am know to do some long distance riding and I never leave home without u know what. NOw I do get lost alot and at my age, comng back home is no easy matter, sometimes I just have to stop and call home and the wifes packs up te trailor and comes and gets me.
As u know it is not the destination but the ride. How true that is for me today. jlottmc, u build it, I will come..

Now Jocko, theres nothing derogatory (that means no slamming) by calling a motorcycle a scooter. I've always called them that myself. I have no idea why but I have.
But if calling your beloved harley a scooter earns me a visit in person by the great ride it like ya stole it Jocko, your harleys a Scooter.
I'll have a big chocolate shake waiting for ya when you get here. And if Mrs Jocko has to come with the trailer I'll have one for her too.
I think we'd have a fine time BSing each other for a few days before we went to trying to kill each other.
I got a garage to park your SCOOTER in while your here. Don't want the neighbors Rottweiler peeing on your tires ya know?
See ya soon Scooter!

When I was a kid a neighbor had a Cushman box scooter and used it to deliver papers. Sometimes I'd go with him and toss them while he drove as fast as he dared. Got stopped once by the police who said he shouldn't be riding it without a license so be careful. Next was a doodle Bug. Really cute tiny thing but lots of fun. He worked his way up through the Mustang and into small motorcycles and eventually full sized.
He told me one day after high school that he wished he still had the Doodle bug. That it was the most fun to ride. The big bikes get you there in a hurry, but just for fooling around the small bike was a kick.
I doubt Harley will make a tiny scooter so Jocko just has to put up with his Harley motorcycle - there is a difference.

Welcome aboard, Mrs. jlottmc, we're glad to have you here. Now if only you could convince my wife to get a CW45!! I must admit though, it might get a bit awkward to hear the hubby-wife conversations on here at times, but it will be nice to have you around. And we all know who will will the 2011 KahrTalk User with the Most Patience awards! Okay, Mrs. Bawanna might give you a run for your money, but she does need to register to be considered.

If Mrs. Bawanna registers here I'm moving to Paraguay and switching to that G forum where everyone is mean and ruthless.
Shes no longer in a killing mood, speaking to me again and all is right with the world for the moment but I don't need her here looking over my shoulder.

Tacoma! I'll pick a new destination, my travel agent must be ingesting mushrooms or something. I been there and aint going back again.
Your right I could be in the eye of the hurricane so to speak but everything seems fine. My van's (Again) on the blink (lift dont lift, doors dont close) and she even offered to take it down to Sumner which is close to Tacoma. I hate going down there. Guess I'll be wrestling myself into and out of the pickup for awhile (AGAIN). Hell being a derelict I gotta tell ya.
Far as the Moderator thing goes the power thing did swell my head for just a little while, kind of overated. It's no longer just an adventure but a job too, but a job that I kind of like and so far I ain't been fired. But the Glory of it all, thats something to cherish and hold in your hand. Plus you get to hang out with John and JustinN who are somebodies so it's almost like I'm somebody too. Perhaps thin and opague but works for me.
On the down side, nobody from those other forums ever come over and pick a fight with me anymore. Well maybe once in awhile. I kind of miss that. Now all I have to harass me is Jocko and he's dang good at it, I'd say down right professional.

I'm retired, to Largo, Florida. But I was raised in Tacoma, lived around there most of my life.
Cess pool? Just 'cause the Chief of Police shot his wife in the head three times when she was seat-belted in (she recovered) and then killed himself? Just 'cause two Pierce County Sherriffs have been carted off to prison? Four cops gunned down in a coffee shop a while back?
It is a bastion of Liberlaisum, that's for sure.
I hardly miss it at all! :)

Take it tongue in cheek, jlottmc. Be thankful your wife likes guns and actually even signed up for this forum. She's a rarity and I wish my wife had patience with my "Kahritis" and this forum. Now I just have to figure out how to increase her patience level for a collection, as your wife have - hence my comment. Sorry if you took offense at what I said. And yes, Paraguay - they do frown on guns there - the "legal" variety, anyway. They do have a budding black market though.

I don't mind his Karhitis...He has other stuff and is beginning to slowly wind down from buying right now. He's got a couple more that he wants and then its going to be slowing down. We have a certain amount he puts toward them every month, and sometimes it takes two months to get the amt for the cost of a new gun. He puts up with my hobby of reading what he calls my "SMUTT books", even though my hobby is less expensive. But with him having his hobby, I get to shoot too so it's all good.

I used to be like that. I was around guns all my life, but was always told not to touch them. When I married jlottmc I had to get used to his hobby. Most people think he's TOO obsessed, but it's what he likes to do and collect. I used to LOVE revolvers and didn't want to shoot the autos, mainly because I wasn't used to it and because I couldn't rack the slide.
It does take practice, and there are still some I don't like. Jlottmc has some I LOVE to shoot, but I wouldn't carry them because of the size and weight. One reason I like the CW45 is because it's so light and I don't feel it to be as bulky as some of the other autos on the market. Just give her time. She might come around. Don't push her or that might push her away from shooting altogether.
