Just bought my first non-Kahr handgun. I've had 8 different Kahr's previously but am now the proud owner of a Sig P229. Couldn't resist it's new with night sites and 3 mags. That's 46 hollow points waiting for an intruder(s). It will strictly be a night stand gun keeping my Kahr's busy during the day but I feel guilty at the moment. Just hard to resist the 16 round capacity.

Why feel guilty, join us unrepentant gun whores. I have two Kahrs in my house, and a pile of other stuff. Shoot them plenty, shoot them more, rinse and repeat.

No need ever to feel bad about owning a classic SIG.

I came very late to the Kahr dance but glad I finally checked it out. Lots of really nice guns out there in addition to Kahrs. PM9 just happens to fit into my carry system like no other gun I researched could.

Never owned a Sig but have heard mostly good stuff about them.

Guilty about what? Does Kahr sign your paychecks?

I was actually going to let the forum decide between a Kimber pro carry 2 1911 or the Sig. 8 big rounds vs 16 medium ones. The auction ended in a half hour so I didn't wait.

You're not cheating. That's one reason that a gun is better than a women - they don't care if you go out with another one. Congrats on the SIG. I'm still waiting to get my nickel plated, nightsighted P220 back from the Gwinnett County Police Dept, where it's being held as "evidence". It was also my night stand gun.

Thanks guys. I feel less guilty. I'm curious to see if Sig has that same disease as Kahr with the symptoms being you want one of every model. That's going to get expensive real quick with all the different variations you could end up with 136 guns stat.

Variety is the spice of life. I like owning as many different brands as possible. My favorite isn't even a Kahr, it's a Beretta that came from a riding buddies estate. That will definately be the last gun I ever part with. I've had nothing but good luck with that gun, it has an angel watching over it. I love carrying it, I just feel so good with it on my hip. Too bad it's handle is so bulky and it really prints on my small body. Small of the back isn't too bad, but makes hard for me to reach. Damned arthritis!

Agree about variety! I retired from the Army before the Berettas came on board and shot a few but was never impressed until a couple of months ago when fishing at a friends farm pond. He is a retired Detective from the local PD and he wanted me to shoot his PX4 Storm Type F (DA/SA). There was a soda can laying over near a tree on the dam at least 35 yards away. I fired 4 times hitting it 3 including the first DA shot. I quit before I missed more than a couple inches. I know it was luck but that was a real sweet shooter! It was a full size 9mm with almost no recoil and fit my hand perfectly. I've been thinking about that pistol ever since. I want to wait for the compact version of the .40 to get here before I decide. I'm not a .40 fan but, you know.....variety.

You passed up fine 1911 for a Sig medium shooter?

I'd wear a sack over your head for a few months just in case somebody saw ya do it. The constant laughing an ridicule would have me on the floor sucking my thumb in a heartbeat.

Ok Ok, Sigs are cool too. Especially the 220 SAS Dak trigger model that shoots big fat meaningful bullets.

Nah! You're OK. The only brand I have more than one of is Ruger and they are both revolvers.

I have four Rugers, and three Taurus, now two Kahrs, and singles on the other stuff. Then on the long side of the closet, I have two Moisin-Nagants (91/30, and M44). I like variety as well. And on that note, ever notice that 1911's are like Harleys in the fact that everyone has one, but they're all different?

I guess I like variety. Currently I have 4 S&W's, 2 SIG's, 1 HK, 1 Springfield, 1 Ruger, 1 STI, 1 Kahr [soon], and a High Point carbine.

I own many gun brands and I have never been able to limit myself to one brand or just one of any brand I own. Never had any guilt about it. Except the ones I didn't buy.

That's exactly what I'm saying, I can't even limit to calibers. There is a term for people like us: Gun Whores. I am unrepentant about that, and like it that way. I look at it like this, if it interests I'll play with it and probably end up owning at least one. For example this whole pocket carry thing, I used to not see a point, then I started playing with it and now own two pocket guns. So the budget may not let me own many of them or even what some (snobby types) consider good guns, but they work and I'm happy. Nothing wrong with that. The only gun I feel bad about is the one I can't buy (that budget thing again).

They say money can't buy happiness. I got one thing to say about that.

Bull Hockey!

Well if that be the case, I'd sure like to have the money to try. Or have the money to know if that really is a problem. Then again if you can acquire a new toy to play with just because you can, then who says you ain't happy.

Give me the loot to buy a new toy when I'm feeling blue, no matter who's talking to me or not, no matter who's planning to push me off the steps, I'll be happy.

Imagine being able to just say. I'm a little down, think I'll go to town and buy a gun to brighten my day. Oh I felt so good I bought two. Oh honey we have the loot, you should have bought 5 and saved a trip.

Gee this one has a glitch, think I'll just throw it away and go get another one.

Yeah, money buys happiness. I just know it.

Think I'd buy my future brides TD2K and Melissa maybe a Corvette or a Hummer or something to brighten their day too.
