I was impressed with Ron's ( Garrett Ind ) holster for the PM9 w/CTrace. Thought I'd share some pics.
Smudge on the mag holder was ME.

You'd probably like to see the holster with the PM9 inserted?
Me too!

Very clean work. I like the way he puts the belt clip just a bit to the side to make the holster a bit thinner.

Cat,
You're referring to the slimline model. I was going to order that version of the Silent Thunder. Ron steered me to the regular ST. Call and talk to him for the reasons why. Bottom line is, the extra thickness due to the clip placement is not noticeable. I'll post more info once I receive my PM9.

Light Artisan--congrats on the new holster. Is yours the standard or the slim?

I got the standard as well for the same reasons you mentioned above... added stability vs little noticeable difference. He's a great guy to work with, very prompt responses to my emails - he could have easily up-sold me, but didn't - he just laid out the options and advantages/disadvantages and let me decide.

Yeah, we're lousy salesmen.... Ron and I both believe that helping someone make a decision is much better than trying to force them into a decision they may regret. I think those "lousy" sales techniques of ours may be the second biggest reason that so many of our customers keep coming back.

Thank you for the vote(s) of confidence!

Mike, you are absolutely correct. You guys are more problem solvers than sales people. I and a lot of other folks really appreciate your pre and after sales support as much as your products which are terrific.

I just received a Silent Thunder SH Slim a few days ago (for wife's PM9). Garrett Ind. had it to me in just a little over a week. I agree, that the quality is outstanding, the leather lining is brilliant, and the retention is perfectly adjustable.

My only issue with the Slim is that the offset belt clip is mounted directly to the Kydex and parallel to the body of the holster. The stiffness causes the clip to push the belt line of your pants out. I think I may take a blow dryer to it and curve the mounting point back to more closely follow the waist line.

I would love to hear what someone from Garrett Ind thinks about the Slim's belt clip and the idea of bending the Kydex at the mounting point. Maybe a future version could be attached using a flexiable intermediate, or maybe that is a horrible idea.

This being said, I love the Slim, and my wife wants to shave every inch possible off the thickness of her holster. I think I will order the regular Silent Thunder if my LTC ever arrives.

Here are some great pics (not mine but used with permission) of the Silent Thunder. This slideshow (http://s762.photobucket.com/albums/xx269/OldLincoln/Holsters/?albumview=slideshow) is worth the watching.

Also, the Silent Thunder story (http://ezine.m1911.org/tucker2.htm) is worth reading. This is a review by 1911.org from some time ago. To bring it up to date, Garrett Industries was always the manufacturer and has took over the marketing when Tucker sold his business. Ron and Sheryl are good people and were always standing behind the marketing with the support and now they are visible. BTW, Garrett has been in the business a long time mainly providing military equipment.
