I don't really see any need or practical use for it (unless a Steampunk Action Shooting Society exsists), but I salute the vision/ingenuity involved and the fact that the fella went and did it.

I kinda think this was the idea behind the invention of the semi-automatic pistol. Guy's operating a hundred plus years behind his time.
This is a fix for a problem that does not exist.
At the range I worked for years ago, we had a guy who was head of the tool shop for Sensormatic. He reworked a Beretta 84 to operate via the long recoil method. The slide would move backward, the barrel would move backward about 7/8 inch, the slide continued back, the round would extract and eject, the slide would strip a cartridge backward from the back of the magazine, hold it while ejection took place, and then feed it into the barrel. The barrel and slide would move all the way back another 7/8 inch back into battery. You'd load the cartridges from the back of the magazine forward into it!
Why? I dunno. Because he could I suppose.
