The manual for the Kahr P380 recommends a monthly cleaning.
Does anyone actually do this?

Why do you suppose they recommend this?
Because this gun requires more lube than usual, tight tolerances, etc?

Probably because it is meant to be carried in the pocket.

if u shoot it, u should clean. If you clean and what tucson said, with todays modern lubes, that gun doesnt need cleaned once a month "just because". One has to decide how a gun is used also. If you carry in a dirty ass pocket or crapola weather , even though you didn't fire it, better to be safe than sorry, CLEAN IT.

I wasn't able to shoot my PM9 most all winter but it wa sin my pocket 24/7 in a desantis. It stayed IJMO perfectly clean so it didn't get cleaned due to none use. My P380 sits months at a time in a longabarger basket loaded. I don't celqan it every month and realy don't clean it until I shoot it.

I guess also ,,, u can't over clean a gun either so each to his own method of whatis good foryou...

I'll bet you are correct. Pocket and ankle carry are about as dirty as it gets.

Perhaps not break it down and scrub, but I recommend hitting it with canned air to blow the dust bunnies out. I didn't think my IWB got lint or dust until I took a picture of it in response to the thread here. It was loaded with dust so I put the air on it and it was clean again.

Hopefully I shoot it a lot more frequently than once a month. More likely once a week, and it gets a cleaning. That being said, if I didn't shoot it once a week, I would probably still give it going over just because.

Clean gear is good performing gear, and I like to play with my toys. :)
