View Full Version : Feed Problems with a new PM9!

Took my new PM-9 to the range last week. I cleaned and oiled it first and decided to try it with the 7 round mags. I had a lot of trouble feeding Speer Lawman 124 gr. TMJ ammo. Rounds were getting stuck in the mag and not moving up. The Lawman ammo does seem to have more of a point and taper than a lot of more rounded ammo.
Next time I am going to try the 6 round mags with the Pearce finger extensions and a FMJ ammo with a more rounded nose.
I put 100 rounds through the pistol and won't carry before putting at least 200 through. My current pocket gun is a Sig P238 .380 with CT laser and 7 round mags - it always feeds, goes bang and ejects! I bought the PM9 for more punch.
Any suggestions for the feed problems and 6 rd. with pearce extensions vs. 7 rd. mags?

Welcome to Kahrtalk!
I recently bought a PM9 and had issues with my 7 round mag. If I remember correctly my 7 rounder would sometimes feed 2 and get stuck on the fifth round. The 7 rounder was returned to Kahr in exchange for a 6 rounder. No FMJ feeding issues with 200 rounds of 115 & 100 of 124 FMJ ammo through the 6 rounders.
Not savvy enough to comment on Speer Lawmen as a break-in ammo.

cure for the 7 round magazine. Drive to the nearest river bridge. Stop in the middle of the bridge, get out of the car, now with your most powerful arm pitch that fokking 7 round magazine as far as u can, get back in the car drive to the nearest dairy queen and have a nice choclate shake, then go home and order a 6 round flush fit magazine and be done with any issues. You bought the PM9 for concealability, why try to make things stick out the bottom of the gun when if that was ur intentions to have more rounds, u should have bought a cw9 or a P9 and just been done with it.
Just my 2 cents.
Now u really need to go to the kahr tech section if you not have already and hit on two great stickys" Kahr lube chart, which is simply the best and the propper prepping of ur new kahr. both will mae that PM9 purr like a kitten.

Thanks Bill K. & Jocko,
My PM9 does conceal and carry comfortably with a Mitch Rosen IWB holster, even with the Pearce extension on the 6 rd. mag. I was hoping that 7 rd. mags, designed and built by Kahr, would work as backup mags . . . in a Kahr pistol. My first Kahr so I didn't know better. My other pistols are Springfield, S&W, Sig, Beretta and FNH.
Thanks for the heads up on lube and prep. I'll give them a read.
