Well, I put 5 magazines of Speer and Federal 155 grain JHP through my CW40 this morning. Just like the PM40, I was having one of those low/left days, but all still minute of felon. The CW40 worked beautifully, as it has since new.
All good with the CW40, the PM40, and the PM9.
Now for the P380 part. (Actually I shot the P380 first, to remove any tired hands as an excuse for any malfunctions.) Approaching 700 rounds between me and Kahr shooting it.
3 magazines of Speer Gold Dot 90 grain JHP. - I have had the pistol loaded since last week with these. This morning I pulled the pistol from the pocket, and did 3 double-taps. Everything was good, but the 1st round empty did a lazy jump out of the ejection port about 6" straight up, and hit the pistol on the way down. The last round of the 1st magazine put its empty right on top of my head. Magazines 2 and 3 went fine, but it seemed like the pistol was ejecting them farther the more I shot. About 80% of them were coming directly back at me about nipple high, but not making it to my torso.
3 magazines of S&B 92 grain FMJ. All worked good, but still the lazy ejection.
So, no failures per se. I am just not happy with the ejection pattern.
I've watched a few P380 videos on YouTube, and know that the pistol is capable of throwing them out to the right.
I came home and called Kahr. Spoke to Jay, described my reservations with the way it was ejecting, aand asked if I sent the pistol in again, would they actually fix it. He told me with no hesitation that the pistol would eject differently when I got it back. I received a RA, and it is heading back to Kahr again tomorrow. I am trying to look at the glass as half-full, not half empty.
If this ejection problem is fixed, I believe it will finally be the pistol I thought it would be when I bought it.
I am encouraged, because I have never had a feeding failure, and the premature lockback thing seems to finally be gone.
So, the P380 isn't going to the dentist with me Thursday as I had hoped. Maybe next time. I've got a few more trips to make this year.
Fingers crossed.
