Well, thanks to help on this forum I appear now to have a reliable PM9.

I learned here that my issues with the 7 round magazine was not unheard of and that Kahr would likely swap the 7 rounder for a six rounder. They did and I’ve had no issues with either of my two 6 rounders through 300 plus rounds.

By reading several posts about premature slide lock I suspected the issues I was having shooting my Black Hills 124 +P was more likely a slide release problem then an ammo problem. Asked for and received a new slide release as a backup as I went about honing the original so that 124s would no longer rub the nub (hey, that sounds pretty catchy if I do say so myself :)).

So, Tuesday a purchased more Black Hills 124 +P. Also, bought a box of their 115 EXP ammo figuring if it ran and the 124 +P didn’t I’d still have a decent SD round for carry.

Long and the short of it I could not duplicate the premature slide lock problem with the modified slide lock lever in the gun. 124 standard pressure, 124 +P and the 115 EXP all feed, fired, extracted and ejected without issue just as had the 115 WWB & Remington UMC ball ammo.

Now I’m just waiting for my Alabama pocket holster to arrive and do one more range session before placing my PM9 into my carry system. Also, want range time practicing/training for effect as opposed to primarily break-in and fam firing.

Once again, thanks guys and gals…

Great report, Bill K! I too am getting anxious for my Alabama Holster to arrive. How long did it take kahr to send you the 6-round mag in exchange for the 7-rounder?

Melisa,

If I remember correctly they got the 7 rounder on a Monday and it was either Thursday or Friday the same week that I got the replacement 6 rounder and a new slide release. For sure not long as I do remember being surprised at how quickly the items arrived.

Kahr also swapped my seven-rounder for a six after I described consistent failures of my seven. Now I have three sixers = satisfied.
