So I took the new CM9 to the range for the first time today. It ran like a top. This is a just plain excellent firearm!

Before going to the range I cleaned and lubed the CM9 and then racked the slide 500 times.

Today I shot 257 rounds: 100 WWB, 150 Federal Champion and 7 Gold Dots. Why 7? I loaded it up 6+1 before going and then forgot the box so that was all I had with me.

The gun functioned flawlessly with all three ammo types with no FTE's or FTF's with the 6 round magazine. I bought a 7 round (with pinky extension) that I had two FTF's with. I have heard talk of the extended mags hanging and this seems to be the case.

I had also heard that they can suffer from limp-wristing and this is not true with mine at all. I ran a whole mag through holding as loosely as possible weak-handed and it cycled perfectly.

The recoil is a tad sharp (mostly due to the aggressive checkering on the backstrap) but very manageable and fun to shoot. I was able to fire off the GDHP 124 gr +P in a quick string while maintaining "minute of lung" accuracy.

Speaking of accuracy, with the standard rifled 3" barrel I didn't have any great hopes but I was able to put an entire mag into the head of a silouhette at 50 feet.

At more reasonable distances (7-8 yards) I was able to get some nice groups. The green photo (sorry--all I had was my phone) was the first mag I shot at 7 yards. Only one flyer and that was actually the first shot. The long-ish trigger pull made me twist left a tad.

This photo is toward the end of the session by which time I could regularly slow fire 5 shot unsupported groups of 1.5 to 2 inches at 25 feet. Not going to win an medals but for a pocket pistol and my shaky hands I am happy.

Trigger feel:
Obviously a lot longer than the SA on my SIGs but not as long as the P250 and I did not short stroke it at all through the session even during mag dumps. The trigger is SMOOTH though, I would guess about 7 pounds.

It also carries like a dream. I toted it around a bit as a BUG just to see how it felt and it really does almost disappear--even in a generic cloth IWB--can't wait to get something good for it.

I would like to put several boxes of GDHP's down the pipe before completely signing off on it but I see no reason this isn't going to be an excellent EDC. I never really understood the Kahr fanatics but I get it now. I am a believer--You will buy a Kahr.

So, no worries Jocko--I didn't fokk it up. :hippie:

Hahaha jocho!!!

You have no idea... the Karh has been prep and lube since day 1, I just haven't had the time yet. BTW I read all that info already and it came very handy when I was getting my CW45 ready a couple of months ago. I didn't have a single problem then, it is just recently that I am experimenting some issues that I mentioned in other threads

BTW2, I will take both my CM9 for the break in and my CW45 to test that new slide lock spring I got from Kahr. Is going to be a great day... I know!!!

Am considering my first Kahr purchase, either the CM9 or thee PM9, and as Kahr suggest at least 200 round break-in I was wondering with that number and the pleasure rounds at the range what kind of cost most of you incur each month in ammo. Trying to figure what that's going to do to my budget.
