pm45 question

As some may know i am having a little problem with my pm45 and is being shipped back to Kahr.I talked to the gun smith where i purchased the the pistol and asked him about the peice of metal missing on the poleymer handle slide.The slide on either side of the barrel on the handel.I could swear(usually do) that i had never noticed it being there.When i cleaned it from day one i put a little grease on that area with a Q tip.I sure think i would have noticed the Q tip hanging up on that spot.The QUESTION is shouldnt this slide area be smooth and solid all the way down?This piece missing is on the left hand side along with the mag release.:confused:

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking about. If you are asking about the rails on the frame, there are some cutout areas on the polymer rails. They are visible in this lube diagram:

In looking at your picture it would be the area numbered #10.On the side with the mag release half way down the slide part.The reason i am asking so you know is that the pm45 i am having sent back has a chunk of metel missing so the 2 areas to lube the one side dont look like the other.The gun smith told me kahr said it supposed to be there to hold the frame inplace while the put the poleymer coating on it.:confused::mad::40:This makes me wonder if the pistol i bought was actually new.A co-worker took my pistol after all the issues to polish the barrel and had to grind down some meteal off the ramp because it was jacked.He is a very knowlagable gun smith and asked me the question you do not want to hear "did you buy this gun used"Even i a rookie kahr pm45 owner thought this didnt pass the smell test.Ive owned this gun for 5 weeks and it is broken and if what i have seen or heard is true,well there is not a icon available to show how i feel.I used some poor judgement in exspresing myself in a previous thred so i will be :hippie:and talk to these people in person.Thanks

Q. There is a chip in the metal guide rail of my polymer pistol. Is this normal?

A. This is a witness mark for the polymer frame manufacturer and is present by design.
