Ok, new to the forum posts but not new to all the reading I've done on this site. It's my turn to say I'm now waiting for UPS to deliver the PM9 w/night sights I picked up online Friday. I can't wait until Wednesday when it is supposed to be delivered. I really appreciate all the info those of you "seasoned" owners have posted and I look forward to adding some of my insight in the future.
Happy owner Rowdy :D

I know exactly how you feel except for one thing...
In Transit: On Time 2 Business Day(s) Left
Scheduled Delivery:
Tuesday:D, 04/19/2011, By End of Day
I am so excited. While I have been waiting I ordered a Mika pocket holster, a Crossbreed Minituck and one of their belts, a Qwik grip, two extra 6-round magazines (why I didn't just order these with the gun I'll never know), a new cleaning brush (I did not have one in 9mm), and two hundred rounds to get started. Waiting for the darn thing cost me almost as much as the gun! Of course, they were all things I would have eventually ended up with anyway.
Good luck on your wait. I hope it is as "productive" as mine was.

Welcome to Kahrtalk!
Hope your PM9 exceeds your expectations.
Seasoned owners? Oh, that must be me since I've had my PM9 about 2-3 weeks and have nearly 400 rounds through the gun. :) Did have two issues but easily worked on and resolved with help from some even more Kahr "seasoned" than I.

Cough, cough... (hoarsely) sorry boss, I've got that PM9 flu that's going around! It worse than that pig flu we had last year so I better stay at home today.

I am also waiting. I expect it to be at my FFL Friday but he has construction going and has added staff, going from a one man operation. I'm hoping there's no delays. My best case is Saturday, worst is Tuesday. I have a PM9 w/NS ordered, no holster yet My CPL is still pending. Effing bureaucrats; I applied 2/22/11. They tell me probable late June following a Gun Board appearance.
Any ammo BRAND recommendations for FMJ break-in? In my Ruger SR9c, I have had excellent results with Lawman 115 gr, American Eagle, and S&B.

I'm taking the CPL/CCW class this Saturday. My brother-in-law who works for the sheriff dept in my county also sits on the gun review board and he told me the next review here is 20 May. I'm hoping mine doesn't take as long as you've been waiting.

Depending on County, anywhere from 11 days to 5 months. Some Counties require a Gun Board appearance, others do not. Macomb County has two GB meetings each month. Timing is everything. They suggested to me that I will be seen at the second meeting in June.

I have to wonder what they look for at these gun boards. Natural good looks and charm? Put you under the swinging light and make you tell why you want to carry.
I don't want to encourage anyone to do as I do but I would never ever sit in front of a gun board to get a CCW. Just wouldn't happen. I always carry and always will. Depending on the legality the more discreet I will be.
How can they possibly not profile. I'm a strong supporter of profiling, I say if it looks like a goat, smells like a goat and walks like a goat its a goat.
Based on a few chosen people chosen based on questionable authority your CCW priveleges are hanging in limbo. I don't like it.

i agree, neverherd of such a thing Here in Indiana it is a right that no police officer can deny, somehave tried and taken to court aqnd won every time. a criminal record will never get u a permit but thaty is undertadnable. Just because u might not beliked by a certain person on that gun board, is not a reason to deny. ridiculous to say the least.

The GB is a formality. They have the answers to any questions they ask and usually never ask more than three or four questions. Here the members are a Sheriff's representative, Prosecutor's rep and a County Clerk. The permit is laminated and ready and I believe 99.999% are approved once you make it this far. There would have to be a felony after you applied but before the hearing.
