As long as they don't add that massive loaded chamber indicator, it looks like a nice unit.

While I'm happy to see Ruger come out with a 1911, I hope they'll also some smaller 1911s like the Commander and Officers models.

Does anyone know what is meant by the 'SR" prefix on Ruger guns?

I didn't see that one coming either. Duh is correct. Sturm Ruger, who'd a thunk. That Jocko can be a wizard on his good days.

If the come out with an Commander sized model I will buy one quick. I am patient but for only about a year then I will buy what they got.

Duly added to my want list which hanging around with you guys seems to get bigger and bigger everyday.

I'd be content with a full size on this Ruger. I so very much like to be the first kid on my block with one but alas probably won't happen. Course not many gun guys on my block (that I know of) so time is somewhat on my side.

I anxiously await a report from anyone who gets one. I'm shuffling the list now with the MRI and the Ruger in a dead heat. Could change if John post a solid range report on his MRI.

So far the 45 Colt Schofield (probably a Taylors) is still holding # 1 slot but it's been there a long long time, gets bypassed alot. The Springfield Scout Squad rifle is ensconced in the # 2 slot.

Picking up on your thoughts Bawanna, I'd like to buy just one more gun. I'd like to get a Glock 19 because I do not own a high capacity pistol.

Bawanna why'd you bring up a Schofield....I had nearly gotten over wanting one of those with all the baby excitement.....Now I'm going to start googling pictures of them..and thinking about them.....sigh.....Can guns be added to baby shower registries?

There's always just one more gun that we need! I've been thinking about a shotgun and building an AR15.

The baby shower registry for guns is absolutely A OK! I used it for all 3 of mine. Sadly the results were rather bleak or unnotable but theres certainly no reason not to try. You might be more fortunate.
And do keep us posted on this life changing event. (dads and moms everywhere are chuckling to themselves for sure)

Remember the important stats, name, sex, weight, length, who it spit up on first, accurate description of first diaper change (you'll get used to that too).

Maybe we need a Kahrtalk baby registry. What's everyone think?

Oh, and I'm sorry for bringing the Schofield back into the thought process, it was thoughtless and uncaring of me.

I thought you had a pretty sweet Daniel Defense? You need a running mate.

A shotgun is a must have.

And as mentioned before every well equipped woman (did I just cross a line?) needs a 1911. You don't have to carry it, use it as a range gun and think happy thoughts of bawanna everytime you pull the trigger.

I still have the Daniel Defense. Just thought an undocumented AR for backup would be good. Here is a pic I took today.

I will rent a 1911 and report back. :p

Yup, that's sweet all right. Them flowers are looking real nice too. An undocumented build might not be a bad idea at that. Never thought of that.

I'd avoid renting a 1911 until your ready to take the plunge. I suspect you'll be a run away train if you shoot one.

You had a major major bit of family news and it's not worthy of sharing with your pals on kahrtalk? Hmmmm?

Thanks for the kind words and advice. As soon as I shoot a gun that I really like, I have to have one ASAP. I better not rent one for a while just in case. :)

I usually don't even have to shoot one, usually theres just a spark, kind of a love at first sight thing. That's all it takes and the painfull wait till it's mine begins.
