I carried my new K9 for the first time today. I was wearing dress slacks, sport shirt and sport jacket. I carried IWB using a Comp-Tac Infidel holster and a Tucker Gunleather belt. All went well and the gun disappeared beneath the sport jacket. The weight was a non-issue with the Tucker belt but I do think the weight would have been too much with an average dress belt.

I've been packing my K-series [K40] alot lately my self. You're absolutely correct, a good gun belt and holster are a must.

While the K9 seems heavy, it's all relative. A loaded K9 weighs about 29.5 oz. A loaded Glock 26 weighs 26.1 oz. The weight difference is about as much as a pocket full of change.

I carry my K9 in an Ace Case tuckable, on an ordinary dress belt, no problem at all. What advantage would I see with a "gun belt"?

Probably not a lot of advantage with an IWB holster as your relying on the belt to just keep it pulled tight into your body. It's not supporting anything.
On a OWB holster a good gun belt makes all the difference in the world. A regular belt allows the gun to sag unless you cinch it up real tight which is uncomfortable for many. One reason I don't like IWB much. I still experiment and try it since it is a good concealment system but I still much prefer OWB.
I've had guys proclaim a holster a POS. I have them try the holster with a good belt and its not a POS anymore (usually) sometimes they still are but thats another book to be written.

I've been carrying the PM9 AIWB in the Fricke Ehud holster I've been gushing over and even with a normal dress belt, all is well. The K9 with the same holster and belt are not so hot. For me, the K9 will be behind the hip.

JohnR, if the pocket full of change you to which you referred is currency, let it be known I have not seen currency in any form since 1969... the year I got married.

no offense but couldn't FRICKE EHUD maybe change his name to something like, Fred Hood?? , I would think if I used that name in a church type conversation that they would stone my ass.

Dale Fricke names his holsters after biblical characters. If you brought up Fred Hood's name in church, your ass should be stoned, but you might be okay mentioning Ehud in a synagog.

You mean Ehud is Donald Trumps partner in the syndicate? Who knew?

I've heard they can be pretty rough customers.

can I just order a Moses holster and he will know, or how about a David holster, with a stone hanging off the bottom of the holster. Or how about a Peter holster, that back stabbing sob..

All I can remember Jocko are the Ehud, Josua and Archangel. Those are all IWB. There may be a David or Moses among the OWB. Maybe even a Noah with a complimentary Ark or a Jonah with some fishhooks included.
