Hi all,

I just purchased a used P9 yesterday and I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is? The gun was very dirty and looked like it had never been cleaned (poor thing), but otherwise in great condition. It is a black P9 with Tru-Dot night sights. I got it with box, original literature, lock, 7rd mag & 8rd mag for $500 even OTD. I think it's a deal, but if not just keep silent :)

I've done a little research and am confused on exactly what model it is? The box says "KAHR KPS9093A P9 COVERT" and "P9 WITH DIAMOND BLACK SLIDE" both SN: EA29XX which matches the gun.

Here's the dilemma: search of KPS9093A turns up a P9 stainless slide??? (9094 is black), and my understanding is that a covert has a shorter grip, but mine has the full but clearly says covert? Is it a factory fluke? Should I inquire to Kahr?

Whatever it is, it's mine now and I love it. My G19 ended up being a nightstand piece and the P9 will become my carry once I find a nice IWB I can tuck with.

Any facts about this particular model will be appreciated. Thanks.

Before I did that I'd want to make damned sure it works the way it's supposed to. ;)

P.S. Welcome to the forum!

Definitely. The Glock is rock solid and has never missed a beat since I opened the box. I hope the Kahr treats me the same way. I have stripped/inspected/cleaned it up and performed overall function check. I hope to get a chance to go to the range and try it out this weekend.

Aight. I just answered my own question. It appears the sticker on the right is the dealer's inventory sticker (all other Kahr box shots just show one sticker). Under it is the actual model number: KP9094NA, which makes sense P9, black slide, night sights. No fluke and no covert. I'm not suprised, this same dealer told me there was no such thing as a CZ Rami and he had one in the case.

Nice find. IMHO, the black P9 is the ideal CCW. Kahr nomenclature is all over the map and at times hard to decipher. The label on my P9 says;
P9, 9mm, Black Polymer Frame, Black Slide, N/Sights KP9090NA

We need a book on interpreting Kahr code and serial numbers.

FWIW: Sometimes having a "less than well informed" gun dealer can work in your favor. My $400 HK USP9 is a good example.:D

I agree with your assesment: KP9094NA.

Whatever it is, it sure is a fine looking gun. Love the picture of it on the topo map.
With your permission and a little bit of trimming, it would make a great looking
wallpaper for my notebook PC.

Thanks for posting. Enjoy your new Kahr.

Just did a quick look on Gun Broker and they are asking anywhere from $670 to $750 for new 9094s. As long as it runs well you seem to have made a good deal.Keep us posted if you don`t mind. All the best.

jwwood. nice gun what ever it is. U bought it, u own it, now just shoot it like u stole it and forget about whats on the box, If the gun is indeed not a covert, then you eliminated what ever what was printed on the box as being true.

nice gun, great price IMO.

I emailed Kahr last night and promptly got a reply this morning! It is indeed a KP9094NA = P9, diamond black slide, Tru-Dot night sights, manufactured in Jan. 2010. The sticker to the right is the dealer's inventory and did not come from Kahr.

I'm thinking of picking up another 7rd mag and putting flat baseplates on both. :D
