I just now finished a six page Bing search for MK9 grips and didn't find anything except grip sleeves and laser grips; looks like I'll have to learn to like what Kahr offers.

I did find a thread where a poster discovered that Hogue makes the grips which are offered by Kahr and that he had contacted Hogue to see if they would make a set in some other style. Alas, that's where the thread ended and I think it was in 2008.

You might get a better response if you included the model of .40 Kahr that you are looking for grips for.

Just for your information - Bawanna makes custom grips. He's the main moderator on this forum and should be along shortly. You may want to look at the ongoing thread regarding his grips.

You rang? Just to clarifiy I'm the rookie greenhorn newbie mod. My leaders JohnH and JustinN are the main men. I'm a poser.

If that 40 is a K series I can probably build ya some. I have an early K 40. I got nothing to fit the MK too right now. My MK is an old GA series and won't work on any of the newer MK's. I'm trying to find a newer MK to borrow or a wrecking yard version to buy to make handles on.

One fella considered buying the smooth grips from Kahr and thinning them down and then having me checker or modify some. Could maybe do that.

Wish I would have known you were into making custom grips. I'm still not entirely pleased with my second set from Kahr for my K9.
I may still be interested in having you do a set if you would be inclined to do so.

I'm most definitely inclined to do so. As the weather gets better unfortunately my quality wood time diminishes but with a little patience I'm happy to make em for all you guys and gals. Never forget the ladies.
In your case Kahrson, is there something we can do to your grips to make them more pleasing.
I seem to recall you mentioning they were lighter than you liked or lighter than the first set you received. Is the shape and feel good?
I assumed the word was pretty much out that I make grips and I don't want to be considered compitition to Kahr or their suppliers. It's a hobby for me and pictures posted here are basically just to show off, not to advertise or seek orders. People that are happy enough to post pictures of my grips on their guns here just absolutely makes my day. I dig happy customers more than anything.
I guess I don't want to get too awful busy either or my hobby would become a job or work. Might take the fun out of it. I do have a hard time saying no though and I really enjoy making grips for members here and friends of members too.

U just remember OL GREAT ONE, that I have full copy rights over the use of ti-ty pink being used on any set of BAWANNA GRIPS. I will sue!!! It will be ugly in the courts when I drag some super model blonde with a set of hooters that makes one stand in line for hours just to see and have her compared her hooters colors to my copy righted ti-t pink color. It will get real ugly, trust me all,, U WILL WANT TO BE THERE.
I have a judge in ur area already picked out Bawanna. His name is IMA Pervert!!

Great Bawanna! My main complaint I guess is yes, they are lighter in color than what I wanted and there just is not much character in the wood and they don't add that much more to the overall looks of the gun imo.
The feel of the grips are good and I do want to stay with checkered pattern rather than a smooth grip.

So I would like a darker color wood that has some real character in the grain. something that draws your eye to it right away. This is the first gun that I have purchased with the "sexy" look in mind. all my other gun purchases have been based on functionality. This time I wanted that eye candy appeal and the K9 Elite seemed to fit the bill.
here is a pic of how the gun looks now.

Don't get me wrong they're not ugly but just don't have that eye pop that I'm looking for.
If you have any suggestions i'd be happy to hear them.
Thanks!!

Your right, they aren't ugly by any stretch but they don't have a lot of pizaaaz either. I'm seeing some highly figured Coco Bolo in your future. I need to make a trip to the wood store, the stuff I have if rather plain. Want to check out some other stuff also. Been a long time since I checked it out.

Stay patient and I'll take care of this. I'll keep ya posted and make sure your good before we make sawdust.
