Good morning, all. I was wondering if anyone here carries while "dressed up", wearing a suit and/or dress pants with a sport coat. I am looking for a gun belt appropriate for this type of clothing. I was also wondering if folks have thoughts on whether I should go with a 1" or 1.25" belt for that type of attire. IMO, anything over 1.25" looks too casual (and even 1.25 might be pushing it for me).

The belt would be supporting a Kahr MK9 in either a Rosen UPL or 5JR (neither of which I have yet). Total loaded weapon weight is about 28oz.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I carried in dress slacks for years with a pair of Milt Sparks belts (one in black, one in brown; not both together) and it was "OK". I just got a Quick Ship 1.5" from these guys:

and what a difference a real belt makes! You can order the width you wish, but not as a quick ship belt. I think any of the belt-making sponsors on the various forums would do you right, and the prices/ship times may be the deciding factor for you. My Sparks belts were made 20+ years ago and are not as supportive of the modern belts, not as stiff or rigid.

I wear with dress clothes all the time too. I use a one inch belt from Tucker Gunleather. It really doesn't look very dressy though. I try to keep my suit coat buttoned to cover the big brass buckle.

I have several Jason Winnie gun belts I chose his double layer stitched dress style belt but Its 1.5" I have never seen anything shorter (1'-1.25") that didn’t fall or collapse.

I tried on the taller belt and it worked better than I expected as you couldn’t tell a 1/4 or 1/2 inch difference wearing it.

I also switch up from leather to my 5.11 tactical belts made from nylon for casual.

I would check out the leather Jason Winnie belts as I haven’t found a better product for the money hands down.

Galco makes a very nice belt, the Concealable, that is a standard 1 1/2" wide gun belt that tapers in the front to a normal looking 1" dress belt. This further hides the purpose of the belt if wearing a cover garment.

My daily wear belt is a DoubleDuty from Sportsman Guide. Great 1.5 belt.

I also have two of the Blackhawk dress belts. They are both 1.25, one plain, one basket weave, nice belts for the rare occasion I wear them.

I have read that they don't hold up well over the long haul, but for my needs, $30 was a great deal and I have no complaints.

I wear a leather gun belt made by Looper. It is 1 inch and is reinforced with Kydex. They are less expensive then Galco, and can be purchased from Kahr's web site. See below link.

I prefer the 1 inch because with dress pants I have found the 1.5 inch may be too large for the belt loops on different types of dress pants.

These belts come in either black or brown. I carry a PM9 in a Don Hume IWB and find it quite comfy and well concealed.

Hope this helps! :)

Actually, this is very helpful since the Kahr website doesn't mention the width of these belts. I wasn't sure if they were 1", 1 1/4", or 1 1/2". :D

So, since there does not seem to be an option to choose a color, I guess they expect this to be a phone only order item. Or am I missing something?

My wife can confirm that I miss a lot.

Now, I am really confused. I found another vendor that does allow you to specify color (http://www.tds-us.com/catalog.php/tds/dt/pd2102417/LOOPER_KYDEX_REINFORCED_BELT) (as well as length) but they list this as one and a half inches wide.

It's strange, they have a different item for each color and size. BL is black and BR for brown.

Cool! Thanks! Yours is the link I should have been looking for. For a Saturday, this has been one of those "distracted" days.

I think I am going to go sit quietly someplace a read printed material for a while. ;)

I just checked to see what I paid for my Jason Winnie belts and I forgot they were so affordable @ $44 and $59. I have the dress style double stitched ones but I think I need one of his single layer belts for casual (jeans, shorts, etc.). They also have more holes than my old belt.

Here are pics from his website of the ones I have.

These are built like a tank are called a 20-25 year belt.
