If the slide stop is MIM and the barrel is a traditional lands and grooves non match on the CW then why are the prices the same on the Kahr website for the P series? I thought that I could buy a CW9 and swap out the slide stop for a machined one. Any thoughts, thanks as always.

Kahr makes no distinction on the slide stops as to wether they are MIM or Machined and same for the barrels.

Absolutely, you can; I've done it on mine. That said you don't read of much (if any) trouble with the completely MIM slide stops. The only recent post I can remember about either type was in regards to a broken MK (or K) series stop. BTW, I'm not an expert, but I'm not afraid to tinker.

Also, don't equate "lands/grooves" as non-match. That's errant thinking. Truth be told... the traditionally rifled barrel may actually be more expensive to produce, even though its perception is "lower grade" compared to the polygonally rifled barrel.

And...Kahr's polygonal rifling is weird... Not like HK or Glock... Not Metford pattern. Its weird. But it works!

Kahr touts that the Lothar Walther "Match" barrel is more expensive than the traditional barrel used in the CW line. I'm just asking why are the parts the same price for a MIM or Machined slide stop and same with the barrels used in the CW line. Kahr says that the CW line is less expensive because of less machining on the slide, non dovetailed front sight, conventional rifling and simple engraving. Then why would replacement parts for the 2 be the same price?

I understand that a traditional rifled barrel can be match as I own some high end 1911's that have match barrels.

good question, ask kahr, we can only speculate. Could also be that for the premium quality of the lothar barrels they are just putting the same price to their standard barrels, same thing for the slides. I would speclate that there probalby isn't much cost differencein thetwo barrels or two slides. But if the lothar barrles cost a $1 more than can say it is a more expensive barrel yadda yadda. A dovetail front sight over a pinned front sight is more expesive no doubt but how much more is again somethingt that kahr isnot gonna tell us. Probably the best guns for the bang from kahr as far as dollars well spent IMO would be the cw series and the new cm series. No fancies, just built like a damn tank. If u want power steering in ur tank then buy the PM9 or P series and if you want air conditioning, buy the K series..

I would not question Lothars barrel works, as they have been at this a very long time, their reputation also speaks for itself.

I had a K9 but sold it when it was NIB. I still have my favorite T9 with MMC sights that I paid $500 for from CDNN a few years ago. I will probably stay with the K9, P9 or CW9 as they will use the 8 round mags I have for my T9. I should of kept the K9.
