For members who will be attending the NRA Annual Meeting this year in Pittsburgh, PA, I would like to invite you to stop by the Kahr booth and say hello! I will be there all of Friday and Saturday, along with the good folks at Kahr. We are at booth #2445, and show hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, both Friday and Saturday. If you have not been to an NRA Convention before, they are a lot of fun and a great opportunity to see the latest hardware from all the major manufacturers. Several forum sponsors will also be there. If I have Internet at the hotel, I will try to post some pics one evening. That is if I have any energy left after talking all day! :D

I went to the NRA show many many years ago when it was in Seattle and I can attest that its well worth visiting. It was absolutely amazing. I'm not a wait in line deal with crowds kind of guy but if I was anywhere near Pittsburgh I'd really dig checking it out, meeting the boss in person and meeting some of the Kahr people.

Usually everybody that is anybody is there, with mind boggling amounts of cool stuff to look at.

Surely wish I could wander thru it. Anyone else that gets there let us know.

Not this time. If the NRA would come to mid-America and set up say in DFW area I will be there.

Make it Seattle again, you can stay at my place and we'll car pool. Go everyday. I'll drive and pay your way, you spring for lunch and pack all the free stuff out to the rig.

I seem to recall when I went it was when Glock first entered the market and they had one in a clear case shooting continuously for the whole show. You could hear it all over the building. They had a hopper the size of a small pickup bed feeding that thing. Supposedly never cleaned or stopped for any reason.

I also had a one on one session with a rep from Desert Eagle who detail stripped the then 357 model. Down to the very last piece. Spent alot of time with that fellow. He gave me inside info to wait that a 44 was forth coming which was a wise marketing move. Who would buy a 357 that big when you could get a 44. Course I never got one and now if I do I want the 50 AE unless they come out with a 75 AE, then I want that.

Pssst, kahrseye? Maybe sneak a picture of Johnh, I want to see if he really looks like Bogey. OK?
Lets keep this our little secret.

I'd sure like to attend one of those at some point, just wish I could have gone when "Moses",..er...Mr Heston was our leader. I bet a speech by him would have been memorable.
The one show I'd really like to go to is the SHOT show, which was held in Vegas, but, alas, it's a private affair, not for us "general publicans". They got lots of really neat stuff, though. Maybe some day.....:(

Hmm, at the moment it looks like I won't be working, so may be able to make at least one day of the show.

I've been to 2 because I was friends with an industry manufacturer. Sadly he is out of the fireamrs biz. It is possible to make friands with folks in the right places and get in.

Do ya spose the beautiful Asian Kahr model will be there?

I believe she is Justin Moon's (owner of Kahr Arms) wife. If she's there, I'll get a picture with her and share it with you.

I hate to brag and show off but you want me to post another picture of my autographed poster signed by her in person to none other than bawanna hisself?

It's hangin in a place of honor in my man cave even framed to protect it from dust.

One of my proudest acquisitions.

It will be a last second decision for me, but if I'm able to shift my schedule around a bit, I may be able to make it out Friday. I'd say my chances are currently at 30% and if my workload increases it will diminish. If so, I'll make sure to stop by and say hello and introduce myself. I'll be the 6'8" cowboy with the big 12 gallon hat.

My guys tell me that Mrs. Moon is very shy and was not very receptive to getting her picture taken. They said she was very nice and personable but most likely a culture thing perhaps, she didn't like the picture idea much.
Could have been the day and perhaps if Mr. Moon is around (he was in meetings during SHOT all day) she might be more receptive.
I wish you luck and hope you get a good photo.

Okay, now I am getting all self conscious about the picture stuff. I did get a haircut, so maybe that will help a little. Not sure anything can make me look like Mr. Bogart though. Hair is the right color, but that is about it. :)

Dang it, who ratted me out? How'd you find out about this conspiracy. It was suppose to be a secret. Kahrseye gosh darn it, loose lips sink ships!

The loosest lips on this site belong to a guy with the letter "B". But I won't rat him out. Those in the know, know.

Ok, I ran right smack head first into that one. Lets still go for the pic. Be sneaky.

As for the rat, had to be Jocko.

Bummer John! I would like to have met you. I will not be at the show this year.

Maybe another time.... :(

Likewise I am sure. I hear the 2012 convention is in St. Louis, so just a few hours from me so I will be likely be there. Perhaps you will be able to attend that one.

Well, I really would have liked to go this year but it's just not in the cards for me. I've been swamped with work and will be through the weekend. And added on top of the work, we had wind and storm damage overnight with downed trees so I'll need to be a roofer and a lumberjack over the weekend. It would have been neat to meet johnh and kahrseye and a few others, but the mini-reunion will have to wait. Have fun, everyone - and stay clear of Heinz Field and those anti-2A protesters!

Bawanna

For the protesters benefit I encourage everyone to leave their camo's and fatigues at home. Wear a suit and tie (damn I hate ties). Dress up like Ken and Barbie. Nothing pisses the anti's off more than to see a bunch of gun nuts dressed up like reputable citizens. We we are reputable ain't we, kind of sort of. More reputable and normal than the anti's thats a fact jack.
I'm serious. If I was going to PA, I'd rent a Tuxedo with one of them cumfrombehinds you wear around your waist and the whole deal. It tears em up.
