Spring Turkey season opened up this week here in Missouri. For Christmas my parents bought me an 870 and this was the first chance I had to use it....
Tuesday night I got my magazine plug and full choke installed. I bought my tag and got my clothes all laid. Wednesday morning my dad and I hit the woods about 6 am or so.....by 6:30 I had this....so I'd say the new gun shoots and patterns well.....
Didn't use a Kahr, but it was my first time Turkey hunting so I was pretty happy with it!

Nice! But it would have been more impressive if you HAD used a Kahr! :p

A couple of years ago I might have been able to use a pistol on one, but I fear my practice has slacked and I don't have that edge anymore.....

Dang thats a beauty Justin. My cousins live for turkey hunting back there and several visits I tried to get out with them. It just never seemed to happen, usually too much partying late into the night before. I seldom see them so we celebrate hard. Probably do better now with maturity.
They were always talking beard length all the time.
We got a couple officers here that turkey hunt eastern washington. They have offered to park me some place with them but haven't got there yet either.
I'd say the new shotgun works just fine too.

I'm not real sure how important things like beard length are...I just know this guy was delicious...or the first batch anyways. My wife, mom, dad, and myself all ate some the other night and there is enough for 2 more batches that size, or just breast meat.
Fwiw the beard was 11 inches.....:D

I don't recall what the average or what the lengths mentioned but 11" seems very big.

Nice work. I wish I had time and place to turkey hunt again. Spring Turkey season is always fun, as is spring Dove. I need to get out more.
