View Full Version : PM45 vs Glock 30
Someone on the local forums asked "how does the PM45 compare to your G30" ...I thought hmmm, since I haven't shot the PM45 and have nothing to talk about on that end...this would be a great excuse to break out the scale and camera :D
Without further adieu: Kahr PM45 vs Glock30
I put them on the scales loaded to +1 with Rem. Golden Saber 230gHP
(11r) Glock 30 = 34.99 oz.
(6r) Kahr PM45= 23.60 oz.

why not compare it to the G36? Slim glock rather than the 10+1 glock!
found a video with cw45 and g36

I've never fired a PM45, but a Glock 30SF is a great gun...very accurate and soft shooting. It's my night stand gun.

The 36 would be a much closer comparison being single stack and all but if asthetics and looking cool play any role in the decision making process the PM45 wins hands down. No contest.
Both the 30 and the 36 are fine guns and both shoot very well. I've owned a couple of each, cops keep needing them more than I do so I part with them willingly which is one nice thing about just a hunk of tupperware, I know I can get another eventually if I want and theres really nothing to fall in love with looks wise.
So how do you like them apples.

I traded my P45 in on a G30sf.
I went the opposite route, sold my 30SF to fund my CW45:)
If Glock would put the G36 slide on a 30SF frame, I'd be interested.
Regards,
Greg
BTW, thanks for the photos PaIN; it's good to see how different pistols compare side by side.

At one time, I had the 30 and 36 and tried the 36 slide on the 30. I really didn't like it since it altered the amount of recoil.

I'm trying to put my finger on what the difference in the slide is? I never owned both at the same time but I figured they were the same.

I agree...tupperware isn't pretty. But, it is black and stealthy! :)

The G30 slide is wider than the 36 slide (quite a bit IMO). There used to be some photos up on Glock Talk, but most are missing now: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=894436
Here's a photo I found (not sure who's) of the slides swapped on each others frame: http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg290/drc767/glockhybrid003.jpg
Nice photo melissa5; I see you have some TruGlo TFOs on that puppy.

I'm still trying to get past the pretty heart print pattern back drop. Nice!
The G30 is my "nightstand/HD" pistol along with its buddies, a Mag-Light and extra mag :) I put XS Big Dots on just for the G30's intended use. It runs like a champ and shoots dead on. If ever SHTF, I want this Glock 30 on my side. Its draw back for me is the pistol is too big and heavy for ItW concealed carry and everyday use.
If I had a G36 I would have tossed that in the pics too, sry....

Melissa,
How very artistic! I noticed how the white lettering done to your Glock matches the white border on the hearts. :)

They are two different tools for different needs: When out at dinner with my wife the PM45 is a great resource. When in an area of perceived higher risk, the Glock 30 is the strong preference. Between the two is my Glock 39 .45GAP that I absolutely love. Both Glocks have internal LaserMax-series lasers while the PM4544 has the CTC LG434.
