For those of you that boat or need a waterproof case for any reason. I tried out a Pelican 1120 case. Fits the gun with a couple of mags and I still have room to add my CT laser. I didn't show a pic of the depth. It's a chunk of plastic. But if weather resistance and floatability take priority over portability. This might interest you. About $30 local.

Those are also good for camera's or any kind of equipment you don't want banged around. They come in a bunch of sizes all the way up to rifle cases, and storage trunks.
Get expensive for the big ones but they are bomb proof.
Never really thought of it in the boat but 72guy just planted a darn good idea in my head.

I am cheap, ziplock freezer bags FTW! lol
Yap - stainless guns can rust! I've got an SP101 that has a little light pitting on its side - from having sit in a closet for oh... about a decade or so.

when ridng my motorcycle on a long trip I will put my pM9 in a plastic bag when weather starts to look crapola. it still rides in my pocket and I have been throgh some ice rains that way but it remains dry andf aqccessable to a degree, albeit slower..
when you do alot of cycle riding, plastic bags are a way of life with me.. If it is warm out, I don't do rain gear stuff, but Ineed to keep my wallet, money, gun dry. ride um wet, run till dry.

Yep,
There's a place for those. I've used 'em. Depending on the size and how much air is in the bag when you seal it. Not sure how well it would float? Fill up the bath tub and let us know?
If you want something a little heavier duty? Try the Sealline bags. I use them kayaking and they work great. They make a variety of bags and the mapcase bags or their electronics bags would work great with much less bulk than the pelican hard cases. Plus they would provide a bit more durability than the freezer bags.

You could throw some foam beer koozies in there to help them float, I like those.
