Hey guys, thanks to ALL of you for your info on my issue. I went ahead and followed the advice given by some of you. I made a video so this could be on the forums also for another data point on the subject. Hopefully it can help someone else as it helped me.

All credit to kahrtalk, thanks a lot.

Agreed, good video. For folks new to the Kahr I'm sure it will help others who may also have this problem, especially those who haven't yet stumbled across KahrTalk. And oh, by the way, nice plug for the forum as well.

Plus, it's fun to see what the other members look like!

Good video. Good information for new Kahr users to know. Since my own CW9 is brand new, I took it down and examined the slide stop. The point where you say to file it down appears to have already been cut back on mine. I've inserted loaded magazines and noted that they clear the slide stop with room to spare. Even when loading broad nosed hollow points. Which explains why I haven't had any problems. Is this perchance a modification that Kahr has made to later models?

I dont think its so much a malfunction on Kahrs behalf, I think it is just a function of using a MIM piece. Kahrs are tight pistols, even being off a .001" can cause an issue in these things. Injection molding will never be as precise as machining.

Nicely, done video! :)
You didn't mention (or I missed it), have you had the chance to run some rounds through it post modification?

Also, I'm a little curious: in another thread you wrote that

Went to the range with my cw9 today. first mag I load in, I shot my first round....slide locks back. So I look at the chamber thinking its a jam, nope.

So I drop the slide again, finish the mag out and load another. goes through just fine. Next mag same thing happens, after the first shot slide locks back.

This happens about 5x over the course of 150 rounds. I thought it was me at first hitting the slide release, but I made sure my thumbs where WAY away from it and it still happened. If it was ME i would think it would have occurred already(iv put 400 rounds through it already without any issues).
...
Did you change ammo or something else that would cause problems from the oversize stop to manifest themselves at a point post 400 rounds down range vice from the start?

Again, a well done video; thanks for the effort involved in making it and for sharing it with us.

Regards,
Greg

not really an mim fault. We have had more issues with the forged/machined slide stop levers by kahr than the MIM parts. .Quality control should have caught this before it ever went on a gun..

Oh wow, I didnt know they had issues with the machined pieces.

And iv used nothing but WWB ammo. I bought up a stock of it and have been burning trhough it. so its all the same ammo.

I have not been to the range yet, but just from a before/after standpoint I know its fixed. It was contacting the stide stop before.

ill do a follow up anotation once I confirm at the range.
