Some of you may remember me with my Kahr P380 problems. I have this gun that I wont even sell becasue it has had so many problems and Kahr tried to fix it and still doesnt shoot right. It will shoot buffalo bore +P rounds but sometimes with that it still gets premature slide lock. Can somebody point me in the right direction for shaving the slide lock as I have heard a few people say.
My next question... has anybody tried taking a coil or two off the spring to see if it helps with the std velocity ammo problem? My gun currently stovepipes everyround of every type of ammo? I have tried every brand on my shelf. Maybe this is a dumb question but one of my customers gave me the idea.

don't shorten the recoil springs. big mistake.
go to the kahr tech section ad hit on the propper prepping of your new kahr, it will tell u what to look for and how to fix it.
stovepipes every round if it isn'thitting the inside of the slide lock lever, then I wouold get on that phone qand again talk to Jay or eion and state what the heh is going on with the gun. Ask them to pay the shipping both ways to. BE POLITE AND NICE.
Aslo how about letting another shooter shoot the gun with the ammo that is causing the issues. U need to eliminate any possablikty that it could be shooter related. Mind u I am not saying that is the fault, just that u need to eliminate thye possables.

Thanks Its not shooter related. I have let about 5 others at my gun club shoot it to no avail.

I feel your pain. My opinon:
Put this over in the P forum where it belongs, and you might get some more help.
Some seem to get good ones, some seem to get bad ones.
The solution to some P380 problems doesn't seem to reside in the Kahr repair department. Mine has come back from Kahr twice with that stupid "replaced this, tweaked that, shoots good" BS. Not a word about what ammo they used. Could you be any less informative than "shoots good"?
I enclosed very descriptive letters with each trip there. Never any response that indicated they had ever read or comprehended the letters.
Still ejects them weakly and all over the map. It still has the occasional stovepipe with anything less powerful than Speer Gold Dot 90 grain JHP. That's the only ammo I've not had a stovepipe with. It works, but I hate being confined to a single load. My LCP shot everything I put in it right out of the box.
I personally at this moment am regretting the 800 rounds of ammo I've squandered giving the P380 more chances than it deserves.
Picking up another LCP at this weekends gun show. If it proves as reliable as my first one, the P380 is history for me. A person would be a fool to carry something they didn't trust.
Love my CW40, PM40, PM9.
Good luck.

as much as I love my P380 once getting it back from kahr for issues, I could not in all good faith recommend it to anyone to buy. I love kahrs, will go to the matt for them but the P380 IMO is just to problematic. It shouldnot just shoot one or two brands of ammo, that isnot the way to make a gun, and IF your gonna make a gun that shoots one or two specific brands of ammo THEN STATE IT. This changing ammo stuff is IMO pure crapola. No doubt if you shoot junik ammo, u get normjally junk results, but American made ammo is good ammo. It wil and should go bang every shot. From a personal responsibility and moral issue here is my methods of getting ride of a bad gun.
I will go through the process ONCE of sending it back to the makerr to get right and upon getting it back I willnot fire it, I will peddle it in good faith that is is Now Ok. It might not be either but I am not going to be the variable in testing this gun out pro or con. I owned 3 different kel teks and I had to send them back a totla of 17 times before I could get any one of them good enough to sell or trade. They worked when I peddled them but I lost all faith. I blame no kahr owner who feels the same way. Sometimes u just gotta cut bait and run..
