I bought a HKS speed loader for my CW45, works great w/ the 7 round mags, not so much w/ the 6 rounders. Any tips or tricks for me? Thanks.

Hey cuda, the HKS is definitely still serviceable. Okay, it's not an uplula but I still also use my HKS with no problems - and it saves the thumbs! If you don't like it, pawn it off.

So how do you get it to work w/ the 6 rounders?

Yeah I'm sure it will help quite a bit but that uplula looks sweet. I do believe there is a pretty good return policy on it, should be here Saturday.. we'll see how it works out for me.

I use the HKS with my CW9. I leave the base set set for the longer magazine and just grip it a bit tighter for the shorter one. It's not to bad until I get to the last two rounds. Sometimes towards the end of a session when my hands are tired I will break down and move the base plate up a couple of notches.

You got that right. I've had one for years and it never met a mag it didn't like.

My HKS has worked on the 6, 7 and 8 round 9mm mags no problem - just adjust the baseplate as needed and you are good to go. Even works for 40 and 45 (barely). True, it's no uplula - those are sweet. But the HKS works for me.

The HKS is a third the price and works great. I have two. One is adjusted for the 6 rd and the other for the 7 rd.

What problem are you having with loading the 6rd.

Maybe part of the problem is you have a different size HKS loader (there is more than one size loader) and that's why you can't load the 6 round magazines?

Correct, I had a friend order me one and he got the 450 which is non-adjustable, guess I'll carry a little piece of wood to raise the 6 rounders up.
