hello to all, my 1st post here:
i bought a used P45 and am having issues with it (extraction of last round mostly) i am going to replace the extractor and spring. already replaced the recoil spring but have not shot it yet. also got 4 different brands of ammo i have not shot. i called kahr about the issue and was disappointed to hear they will not cover the cost of the gun because i bought used? WTF who cares if it's used or new? what difference does it make? i would not have bought the gun if i knew that they did not cover it. oh well, now i have to try to replace some parts to see if i can fix it.
additionally, it was an older gun made in 2006 maybe, and instead of a screw that holds on the side panel on the frame there is a flat pin? who knows how to remove this? thanks guys

Welcome Nick! Sounds like you are a man of action and getting your new puppy tuned and ready. As for the warranty I have to save that one because I know very little about it. The experts will be along shortly.

I just went through the same issue with Kahr with my CW45. Instead of paying the $90+ to send it to them and then worry about parts I went and ordered the parts that they told me should be checked.
Good luck with it.

Welcome to the forums:)
My CW45 had issue with ejecting the last round. What I found was that the magazine was knocking the case off the extractor before it reached the ejector. While this might have been an extractor issue, I modified the magazines: http://kahrtalk.com/showpost.php?p=15669&postcount=3
In regards to removing the side plate pin, you can find a procedure in the lower half of this page: http://www.gunreports.com/special_reports/handguns/Kahr-Pistol-Disassembly184-1.html

actually the pin works great. been in my PM9 since day one, neve rmoved. goes entirely through the back side of the frame, holds perfect. . To my knowledge you are the FIRST to ever complain aobut this pin thing. warranty is for 5 years on a kahr , your serial number would alert kahr to the age at best but unless yoiu told them it was bought used they would not have known either. They will fix your gun more than likely on their dime but you will have to pay postage in at the least.
If you think that piddly little ass screw is better than that pin, then u haven't seen the screw. Not sure the screw will work even. U best reuse the pin and there is no reason to be pulling that side plate unless you break something or have to replace that trigger bar...

thanks well i needed to know how to remove in case i need a new ejector. they should have made the pin go all the way thru to the other side so it could be pushed thru either way (glock). anyway i did tell them i bought the gun used and they said that they won't fix it for me. did i mess up by telling them that? and they asked for my serial # and i gave it to them. didn't think about it.
