Eh, I don't care if they are green, red, yellow... whatever, if they are an improvement - great. Sounds like they are, so 'green' it is.

And yes, I do understand we're not talking color here. ;)

The reports I have seen from down range say the ammo is working very well.

The story didn't seem to report any results of the "testing". Is this stuff any good?

Oh, good Lord. Lead bullets imbedded in target's vital organ(s) aren't intended to be healthy. Do agree that parents shouldn't let their six year olds chew on them, though.

So if the enemy isn’t using “green bullets” the environmentalist will protest in the streets of their capital? Let’s see how that works in places like Iran.

If it is a better bullet, does it really matter what it is made of? The new lead free round has been very well received by the Soldiers who are using it on the ground in Afghanistan.

Guys if the bullet density isn't greater than lead it won't carry at greater distances, and as such won't penetrate worth a damn either.
Soldiers use FMJ bullets...we typically are looking for expansion and bullet density for accurate shooting and performance at greater ranges.
Lead does both well and has done so for many hundreds of years. Oh and by the way for all the damn tree huggers out there...lead id PB on the periodical chart, which for the laymans out there...it is a naturally occurring element in nature and is mined from the damn ground to begin with.
NUFF SAID!
