Hey I just wanted to put this out there for general consideration.

This just dawned on me, makes sense though.

I was cleaning the PM45 - could NOT get the barrel out of the slide. Had to resort to sort of twisting it so it was 90 degrees then it barely made it out.

Cleaned it.

Tried getting it back in. No go. Twist 90 degrees, it goes in.

No I'm wondering... it wasn't always like that. What changed.

I ended up finding one single flattened round flake of unburnt powder. I have no idea what it was, but it looked like some of the Hercules/Alliance Unique (or the same shape at least).

How thick is a single flake of powder? Not much.

Took it out (it was tough to remove, stuck to the "bushing" area)

Not everything is fine.... but....

That got me thinking. Ya know how some guys complain about it taking "xyz number of rounds before the gun would go into battery"? Ya know where I'm going with this. DANG! Kahrs are tight! One flake, on a newly fit pistol... could be stoppage maker.

Just sayin...

One flake of unburned power can and will keep a revolver cylinder from closing if it gets under the extractor star in the right place.

Don't take much to tie things up sometimes.

I always have to twist my PM45 barrel a bit to get it out. It's never lifted straight out like my K40 and others I've played with.
Kind of have to get it in just the right spot.

When I bought my PM 45 the dealer showed me that technique as a normal part of stripping. I thought everybody did that! :)

I guess all the more reason to clean often, u were smart enough to investigate further this barrel quirk where most Probably myself) as long as it came out, I dindn't care

I have no doubt that a flake in the right place can cause an issue. Sometimes the FLAKE behind the gun causes most of them.
