View Full Version : How long to wait before invalidating Warranty?

I bought a P9 and plan to convert it into a 'covert' by (carefully) shortening the grip. I double-checked and yes this will invalidate the warranty with Kahr.

So how long should I wait to make sure the gun is running right before I kill the warranty? Is the 200 rounds enough or should I wait 500?

Thanks for your insight.

what answer did you expect from kahr??? My bet is that if your gun has a malfunction that is totally unrelated to what u did kahr will take care of it. U might be liable for the postage in but they really work with people Hell after all they made coverts for a few years.

If the gun is reliable at 200 orounds it should be good to go , so just go for it. U can't worry about what willmore than likely never happen.

Hey Jocko I noticed in your signiture you have 31,500 rounds through your PM9. What parts if any have you had to replace?
I'm looking for a CM9 That is why I am asking.... not having any luck.

they are selling as fast as they come in. This gun will shoot as long and as accurate and everything that the PM9 will do.Mine has had very little of anything go wrong. two broken magazine followers that never stopped working until I took the magazine apart for a periodical cleaning. Recoil springs as all guns need, I have no set rund count, My guess is around 2000 rounds and I just replace the outter spring as my PM9 is the blunt nose and I can buy just the outter springs where as right now a cm9 and new style slide pM9 owners must buy the entire recoils assembly only from kahr, as wolffs does not make the outter replacement springs. (but they will) I recentley replced my slide lock little psring, as I must have bent it somehow as the slide3 wouldot lock open a new spring and all is well. consider Ihave had this gun aaprt well over 250 times at least, so that little springhy did its job well. Everything else is stock kahr. If yuou find a cm9, it will do exactly the same. It is a pm only no bells and whistles vbut all internals are the same, lower grip is exactly the same..

I bought my T9 when Kahr still had their lifetime warranty. Wonder if they will still honor it? Not that it needs any warranty work but when it was purchased it had the lifetime warranty.

I bet they will ... U might have to pay to send it back, not sure lifetime includes that perk. But in ur case the T9 is doing great, so no worries either...

Jocko that is great , That is more rounds than I will probably ever put though one gun in my lifetime.

For Now I am going to call My LGS once a month and see if he can get me a CM9.

94Zcar, u might also see if that dealer would take a ffl transfer in case u can find one sooner. U might wantto look up dawson precision sights (dawson sights.com). they show them for $435 which is a steal if they have it and at the same time their fiber optic front and back sights for the cm9 are awesome. They will sell the sights and install them free f ryou and then send the gun to ur ffl. Just a thought. If ur local dealer is farily big and activek he ight be able to get u a cm9 but sometimes a down payment to him puts u first and o phone calls is needed. alot depends on whether you want ot wait on this dealer to get u one or to keep looking..

Thanks Jocko, I'm giving them a call on monday ...that is a good price.

My local dealer told me it would probably be a few months before he could get one and it would be $450.

I have some money saved up that is just burning a hole in my pocket so if thay have one I'll buy it.

Try GT Distributors. They're primarily LEO only but have some exceptions, Kahr is one of them. It might not show on the website but reports of a few guys getting them at $399+$30 shipping+your local FFL of $25-35 There is no surcharge for using a credit card. Got my PM9 with NS there @$620+30+FFL
