I picked up a CM9 at my local shop on Wednesday. I had ordered it exactly one month before and was surprised how fast my shop was able to get it in. Price was $429 plus tax. I had also ordered a spare 6 round mag while I was waiting for the CM9 to arrive.
I got to the range today and fired 200 rounds of Federal 115 fmj through it with no malfunctions. I shot from 5 yards out to 15 yards and was surprised with the accuracy of this little gun.
I'm trying to decide between 124 grain jhp and 147 grain jhp for carry. I have read that the 147 grain jhp gets better penetration out of a short barrel. What does everyone use for their carry ammo?
The only thing I want to change on the gun is adding night sights. Does Kahr install them if I ship the slide back to them?

Don't have a CM9 but do have a CW9. I use the 124 grains in it and practice with 125 grain RNLs.
So tearing out the breast bone on the target is "surprisingly accurate". Good shooting!

yes they will and indeed let them do it. send only the slide, ur optons are limited, look in the kahr webb site, anythign that fits the cw 9 will fit your cm9.
Nice report, either grain ammo should be more than enough fo ryour kahr. I do know they test fire with 124 grain ammo. More people seem to shoot 124 grain defense ammo than 147, grain, if that means anything . Gold dots are also one of the most popular. Find the defenserond that is totaly reliable and then just stick with it. They are all good.. Every ammo maker has their own add hype behind their pet round remember that..

Another boring CM9 range report. THAT"S GOOD!
Just started carrying my PM9 yesterday. Currently loaded with Black Hills 124 +P which is the same round I've carried for years in my Glock 26. There is a lot of very good 9mm SD ammo available today. I think you could almost pick one by the looks of the package graphics in HP 115 or 124 grain, +P or not, and have yourself a viable SD round.
Edited: Never tried or researched 147 grain ammo so must plead ignorance.

I carry Federal HST 147gn +P. It is hard to find locally but can be had on line at Kyle's Gunshop, Inc. (http://www.kylesgunshop.com/)currently for $29 per 50rd box.

Haven't gotten my CM9 in yet, but I will be carrying it with Winchester Ranger 147gr. Bonded JHP/T-Series since this is what my department issues. Once the gun comes in, I'll give a report on how the ammo handles.
My Glock 19 fed this ammo with no issues (currently carrying a 33 as my EDC, but looking to add a pocket 9mm to my setup since we are not allowed to carry .380s)

it should shoot um with no problem.
I would suggest to you: to go to the kahr tech section ahd hit on two great sticky's that will make the first shoot a fun one.

Jocko - I already prepped and lubed the CM9 before taking it to the range.
I purchased some Speer 124 gr +p Gold Dots for carry.
