We are planning trip to Myrtle Beach June 5th through the 12th. I'm wondering if there is some place to shoot nearby? Wife is planning to play cards with friends and I'll be on my own.

We're going to be there the week of July 4th. If you end up finding someplace, let me know. Wife and kids are planning on doing something with her sister and my car can only seat 4 so she is going to drop me off somewhere before she picks up her sister. She thinks a gun store would be cheaper than a shopping center. Can I buy guns in SC from a gun store if I live in Ohio? Never gave it much thought. I usually just ask my sergeant to order me a gun when the fancy strikes. Here's hoping he can get my CM9 in before I go on the trip. My Glock 33 would look funny in shorts.

I did find a indoor range called Myrtle Beach Indoor shooting range, located at 4857 Highway 17 South Bypass. Phone 843-293-4344. Cost 4.95 per half hour. They also sell guns so there will be something to look at also.
Bullet 47 These women play bridge, talk junk about their husbands, etc. I have to find someplace to hide out.
Chowser I would think you could purchase a gun in SC then ship it to a federal licenced dealer in Ohio?

That is how it must be done. Federal laws and such. You must transfer to your state, but may buy a long gun in a contiguous state if state law does not prevent such (from both states). Bottom line is it would be helpful to have an FFL on hand that you do business with, then ship the gun(s) to them so that you have them when you get home. There is a confusing part about competition and replacement of parts and such, but I 1) don't recall the verbiage, and 2) it's confusing.

You may be able to find out about all shooting ranges in the MB area by checking out the Carolina Shooters Forum. Those guys are mainly from North and South Carolina and may be able to give you more detailed information if you are interested.

Thanks guys. My sergeant is an FFL, so if I purchase anything, I can have it shipped to him. In fact, I will bring a copy of his FFL so it will be even easier. :)

Hey guys,
I live in nearby Conway. Two places I know of to shoot are

Myrtle Beach Indoor Shooting Range (http://www.mbisr.com/)

and where I shoot

Coastal Sports and Range (http://www.coastalsportsandrange.com/)

They both rent guns and charge about the same for range time. Coastal is in the Murrells Inlet area which has great places to eat too !!!!

You can always count on a man from the Palmetto State to know where the good food is.

After shooting guns my next most favorite thing is eating. So SCNick's suggestion will work out great.

We made it to the Myrtle Beach Indoor Shooting Range and it was great! There is only room for two shooters at a time and the noise was terrific. The range officer was friendly and after talking to us for a second left us alone to shoot. The only downside is their ammo and gun prices were over the top.
Murrells Inlet was just too far to go from North Myrtle Beach, but have heard the food at Mannies? is great
