Last November I had a thread asking "What IS a Gun Belt Anyway?" that commiserated on the inability of my 5.11 gunbelt to support my 1911 in a Silent Thunder. Here are a couple pics showing the twist on the belt in the backl and sag at the holster:

While I found a 2 clip holster solved the immediate issue, I said I was going to combine 2 5.11 belts into one. I finally completed that project today.

The combined belts have 3 layers of leather and 2 Kydex. The following pics show the difference:

First the construction. I kept a single layer at the buckle, note the transition and difference in thickness. I don't find the thickness to be an issue, at least not yet:

Next compare the difference in belt twist from the original to the new:

And finally the lack of sag at the holster:

Note: I stuck the 1911 in the PM9 Silent Thunder to keep the comparison single clip holsters. This might be a quick draw but really not advisable for other than a photo session.

Dang you got me on that one Old Lincoln I saw that Colt hanging on by a thread and thought what the heck is with this. Not kosher, don't like it.

It make perfect sense now. And your right. "Now THIS IS a GUN BELT".
Looks good. Make a great tool belt if I was still in the nail bending business.

Good job buddy.
