I have got my light strikes problem down to the almost lack of force from the recoil spring as the action locks up.

Primed brass always fires.

Loaded ammo with bullet the touch the lands always get an off center strike by the firing pin, and only go off half the time.

Ammo loaded with bullets seated deep that don't touch the lands go off 80% of the time.

If I push the slide forward, ammo goes off 100% of the time.

Have you put in new springs???

Right now I don''t think there are stronger recoil springs available. certainly not from kahr and I don't think wolffs has addessed thd P45with springs yet.

Got a Kahr and 3 magazine for $575 used on 2-26-2011
A) Kahr P45
185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 1.2" OAL
Had to make a die to bell the mouth.
1) 7 gr miss fire. Tried again. Still no fire.
2) primed case. fired
3) 7 gr. fired ok, feeds next dummy round
4) 5 gr fired ok, failed to eject
5) 9 gr. miss fire. reset trigger and pulled again. Fired ok. recoil hurts via checkering on back of frame.
Resolved to take firing pin out.
Took out striker and cleaned out a lot of brass shavings.
6) 6 gr miss fire
7) primed case with noted orientation, fires hits high on the primer, meaning case is sitting low.

Looked at Wolff striker springs for the Kahr, and they are reduced from factory 6 to competition 5 pounds.
Pulled out a Republic Arms Patriot 45 to look at the striker than never fails.
Biked around the island and got wet from rain and sweat.
I joined and started a threat at the Kahr forum:
http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=5804
I stretched the striker spring from a relaxed 2.225" to 2.675"
8) primed case.. heavy strike
9) primed case.. heavy strike
10) primed case.. heavy strike
11) primed case.. heavy strike
12) primed case.. heavy strike
13) 6 gr 3N37 185 gr Sierra 1.21" .. light strike
14) primed case.. heavy strike
16) primer case 185 gr JHP no powder 2.1"..... heavy strike.
Bullet stuck bad. 27/32" center punch and machine oil between the punch and bullet and hit the punch with a hammer. It came out and made a mess.
17) primed case 185 gr cast bullet 2.250" no powder will not chamber, seated to 2.14" .... bullet out the bore light looking strike, but it went off.
18) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
19) 185 gr cast 5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
20) 185 gr cast 5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
21) 185 gr cast 5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
22) 185 gr cast 5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
It seems to work with a short Over All Length
It does not want the case pushing against the breech.
23) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
24) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
25) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
26) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
27) 185 gr cast 6.5 gr 3N37 1.110" fires
28) 185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 6.5 gr 3N37, 1.12" OAL fires ok
29) 185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 6.5 gr 3N37, 1.12" OAL fires ok
30) 185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 6.5 gr 3N37, 1.12" OAL lite strike
31) 185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 6.5 gr 3N37, 1.12" OAL fires ok

33) 185 gr Sierra JHP #8800, 6.5 gr 3N37, 1.12" OAL [re try of shot

I would put a new recoil spring in there and not look back. I need to get a few for my two Kahr 45's but I may use a heavy officers' model spring from Wilson or something. They run about the same price as ordering from Kahr.
