Howdy all,
New CW9 owner here. Great site glad I found it, and the people are very helpful. Have a question or two. The front strap on my CW is like a cheese grader, very abrasive, can’t hold on to it very long without fingers getting sore. Anyone else have this problem, and what if anything did you do about it? And what’s the advantage of a stainless steel guide rod?

I recommend the limbsaver slip over grip. Limbsaver Pro Handgun System (http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1314) I purchased a slightly larger grip for my CW40 and then trimmed down for perfect fit.

The stainless steel recoil rod is slightly heavier and thus buffers some recoil as well as durability.

Any slip-on grip will help. I use a Hogue Hand-All on my chopped CW9. Even a bicycle inner-tube will do the trick.

Another option is the Agrip, which is sold by KahrShops. I have it on my PM9 and love the grip. It's kind of like a rubberized suede, very easy to put on or take off. Custom fit, wrap around non-slip grip.

FINE 600+ grit auto sand paper will also take care of it...

Personally, I've never had a problem. Cheese grater? I don't think so. I usually only shoot up to a hundred rounds per range trip. Let's face it, it's not a range gun anyway. It's a highly concealable self defense weapon to be carried out into the bad world.

For the range I have my 1911 and SA XDm9 for extended shooting.

Just my humble opinion.
