I don't want to bump my old thread. It took a frustrated/negative tone and I want to start fresh and say that things are looking up.
( old thread here = http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=6617 )

After that thread and some time, I wrote a letter addressing my concerns to the BBB. Well today I got a great phone call from Doug at Kahr who seems to have made it a point to let me know that Kahr does stand behind their product and is willing to make things right for me. He seemed to indicate that there was a 'mix-up' but seems sincere in his efforts to get things sorted out. It looks like everything will work out well, and after things are in fact worked out I'll be sure to post the positive experience.

It only seems fair that I share the good experiences with the bad, and I'll do the same w/ the BBB. So far, so good. I'm hoping to be a Kahr fanboy once again.

I had what began as a bad experience with Verizon and it resolved to a very good one. On impulse I bought a new phone from the kiosk in Costco. It turned out to be defective but that took several days to show up. I took it to the Verizon store to exchange it but they said it wasn't theirs so they could not do that. I spoke with their manager who was very pleasant as was I, and he explained that the kiosk was run on a contract basis and there is a firewall between them.

I understood and asked for an escalation path and he gave me the Verizon Contracts Manager. She said she thought she could get that fixed in a couple days, but after 2 weeks of her telling me all she had tried and walls she ran into, I asked for the manager that had both the contract and company store responsibilities. It was the Western Division VP.

I looked up the Verizon financials and found names and titles then I figured out their email naming strategy and wrote him a nice detailed email. Later that day I got a call from a VP staffer telling me hew was charged with fixing my problem and that was his priority until I was satisfied. I got calls, emails and apologies all over the place and a new phone overnighted to me a couple days later.

I followed up with a nice email to the VP thanking him and his team, and mentioned by name those who helped me beyond a routine effort. I praised Verizon (and meant it) for their resolve to correct a problem of a single customer.

So it ended up a positive experience although not at the start. We often take it out on somebody who answers phones for a living when our request exceeds their authority.

It's obvious that some in Kahr customer service are not sufficiently trained or authorized to meet everybody's needs. I assume they want to but they simply cannot. I believe Kahr Service really wants to do things right but may be adding staff to keep up with growth and folks are not far enough up the learning curve to do it right the first time. It's a common problem of fast growing companies and I hope they get it under control soon.

This is on the Kahr News at Kahr.com. When you choose the slide show, there are captions.

Can this be JohnH?? Pretty young and serious-looking guy. :) Kind of a good-looking guy, too... not all gray and wrinkly.

The news section wouldn't open for me.

That is in fact our very own Johnh. He posted that picture I believe while you were on hiatus tending to your out of town visitors.
There were several photos from SHOT.

Never giving up a chance to brag I also posted a picture of the Mrs. Moon poster personally autographed to mewah Bawanna and brought back by one of my guys here who attended. I cherish it and had it framed to protect it from dust and elements in my man cave.

Might want to go look up that Shot thread, there was some good stuff.

Glad you posted your pics, it's nice to put a face to a name sometimes
