I've had a CW9 for a while, but wanted a better pocket carry and just got a CM9. One question though. Magazines for the CW9 simply drop out when I hit the magazine button. However, the CM9 magazines (both 6 and 7 round) will not drop out and can't even be pulled out. I have to hit the button and then push the magazine in before I can pull it out. This is very consistent. Is this how it is designed?
Overall I'm very happy with the gun, but this two-handed mag removal procedure is different from every other handgun I've ever used and seems like it could be a problem in a pressure situation.

Mine are tight on my CM9 also. Hit the button then mine can be pulled out. They don't drop out on there own.

First thing I would do is switch base plate on extended cm mag with smaller plastic cw base plate and put your "extended" mag in your cw9. If it drops out then the issue is likely inside the mag well on your cm that you can smooth with sandpaper (the raised lines). If it sticks then the magazine(s) may be an issue. If you can't sand/smooth/polish those send them back for new ones. I had to do that on my MK9 6 rounder.
Some others here may also recommend adjusting mag release or magazine notch I will defer to them on this if my suggestion doesn't help you. Good luck.

I will be watching your thread with interest because my pocket pistol is a PM40 and that is not the norm for me.
I don't know of any pistol with that complicated a procedure for dropping a magazine. On the positive side you probably have zero issues with unexpected mag ejections.

Good suggestion. I tried a CW9 magazine and it was tight, but would come straight out. The mag well is definitely tight. I even tried swapping the bases on a CW9 mag and CM9 7 round mag and they still behaved the same way, the CW9 mag dropped with difficulty and the CM9 mag had to be pushed in.
I'm going to start by sanding the mag well so that at least the CW9 mags drop freely. If I still have to push in the CM9 mags, I'll probably end up calling Kahr. Thanks for the input everyone!

I have a CM9 and both 6 and 7 round mags drop free. The 7 rounders were purchased for my CW9.

Pudly, my CM9 did the same thing but after about 100 rounds or so it now removes freely. If you haven't already put some rounds down range and see if that doesn't free things up a bit.

This is with the mags full with the 6 rds or are the mags empty?
Mine are a little hard to get them out when full due to the spring pushing the rds upwards. When empty the mags fall out about half an inch and are easy to remove.
