Thanks for the link, BillK. I fully expected Atlanta, Ga to be on there.

Darn, Atlanta didn't make the list. I'm so ashamed.

Wow, that's a suprising list. No Chicago, no Philly, no Atlanta, no LA, no Camden, Newark or any other NJ city, no NY. Surpising too is that many of these cities are quite small. Wonder how thing would look if the cities were rated solely on the number of murders instead of murder/1,000.
These cities all have something in common.....
Flint... I know a gal from there. She's in the semi no-man's land where the old burb ends and things thin out just a little. Its bad. There is a buffer of unoccupied, deteriorated dwellings that separate her from the rest of the town. So, a mile and a half of ex-suburb to get to town. Its like something out of a sci-fi movie.

CBJ, I took my diving certification in Flint in 1970. Didn't see much of the town but what I saw looked okay at that time. Flint really suffered when the US auto industry began to struggle. So many Flint residents worked in that industry.

Hey Nelly! I go through Jefferson on a regular basis. It's a nice little town. South FL and bass fishing sounds better though. :)

I have a friend that will be moving to the Atlanta area in about 6 months. She wants to be close to her grand son so her daughter and the baby's dad can help raise him together. I had a former pastor that lived in Woodstock and told her to check that out to live. It's probably quiet, but close to Atlanta.

I have no idea which areas would be safe in Atlanta and stay away whenever I can. I guess she could google the crime rates in different areas to see which would be the safest.

I've got a cousin that lives in Atlanta and will probably contact him for her and ask.

Pretty much. Everybody pulled out. She was working for a sub-contractor to GM that made parts (dunno what parts). She was an electrician for them, but I haven't heard doodlysquat in a while.
