Plan to maybe do a little filing on inner part of slide stop to get a little more clearance for bullet.
What function does it serve other than place where mag follower metal pushes up to lock slide back ?
Need to be careful and not go too far in filing - I only plan a little.

That is the only automatic feature. You might consider using 600 grit, or finer, wet-or-dry sand paper. It leaves a polished surface that will slip over bullets more easily if the slide stop makes contact. In my experience, the finer grit makes removing small amounts of metal and achieving a rounded final shape easier. YMMV ;)

I don't know what yours looks like with carry ammo but from what I can see you have plenty of clearance in the photo. They are always very very close.
If you feel it needs it go with Tucson's suggestion and use the fine stuff.
Are you having issues or doing preventative maintenance?

Having issues. See prior post yesterday in "PM Series":
Followup to "PM4544 FTF - new info" of 5/17
We think bullet hitting slide stop is causing it to get kicked out of frame and causing FTF (13 times out of 403 rounds). You can see nick on bullet in pic - that was the last FTF round.

I did that mod on my PM9 slide stop lever to remedy the same problem. It worked. I used a sharpening stone and then a bit of polishing like mentioned above.

Somehow I completely missed your thread yesterday. Now I think your on the right track by stoning that SS a little bit. The spring looks fine.
You might take a peek at GB's thread in the tech section, can't remember the exact title, something about issues with polymer frames etc.
There's some real good photo's and an excellent description of how that spring should act. He cured his issue I believe by just tightening that spring screw a tiny bit.
I think I'd try the stoning prior to replacing the spring myself. It might need a little tweaking but looks ok. Then you'll have a spare anyhow.

Here is that GB thread. It's a ways down on the first page. Excellent stuff.

For Mr. taxifolia's convenience, the bullets left behind a nice copper colored mark on the slide stop so he will know exactly where to polish off some material. Kahr pistols are so accommodating to their owners! ;)

That is correct kind sir.
I found that rounds nose dive in the process of feeding and hit the slide stop. If the force of the slide stop spring on the slide stop pin is insufficient, the stop will be pushed out of the frame. I extensively modified a stop to try and prevent contact with the nose diving rounds, but could not completely preclude it happening. What worked for me was tightening the slide stop spring screw. This limits the travel of the spring and results in more force being needed to move the spring. In turn, the stop pin is held more securely in the frame and the nose diving rounds cannot dislodge the stop. The spring is also more difficult to move on it's open end. This means more force is needed to push the stop's lever up to lock the slide back. This fixed premature slide lock with my CW45 as well.

After Kahr sent me a different slide stop to fix the premature slide lock of my K9, I filed about one mm off the inner part of the original one to give more bullet clearance. Now, with the original slide stop, I experience no premature slide lock after 200 rounds and one in 200 rounds with the replaced one.
