To be honest, I was worried about my purchase because of all the negative banter about the P380...
100 Rounds: NOT ONE ISSUE !!!
Accuracy: The person on the picture, DEAD !!!
Recoil: What recoil?
Ammo: Sellier and Bellot (Czech Republic, you rule) Matter of fact I was just in Prague. Great City !!!
Went BANG every time...

Welcome to Kahrtalk!
That's great. Always good to read a positive range report. A reliable .380 makes a fine BUG and if nothing else can be carried it is also a halfway decent primary.

Okay, she's all cleaned up, lubed, and ready to go. Question, what do you all think about using Amsoil on the gun? Will it hurt the plastic?
Thanks

Great report. I tried to get out and do some chronograph work this week but it rained every day. Got all set up today and the clouds started rolling in and there wasn't enough light to get readings.
I'll add that Aquila and Allegiance both went down range without a hitch. These were new ammos for me and the P380. I was working through the list in alpha order, but didn't get very far. Your friend Sellier and Bellot was due up as sample number 14 today. =)

Oh, I used NON Clorinated Brake Cleaner to clean the gun. Some of you folks do this.

I don't know if anything is wrong with it... all i know is i use what has been proven with me and I use fp-10 and CLP. FP-10 won't harm your plastic and is better than the CLP i use on my duty weapons at work. The military loves CLP and I have been using it for about 10 years without issue, but it's not my lube/cleaner of choice!

amsoil will not harm your gun. It is a auto/motorcycle oil, why not stick with a gun oil or a good gun grease. non cholorinated brake cleaner will not harm your polymer what so ever. not much difference in non cholorinated brake cleaners than the higher priced gun spray cleaners, only I think some of the gun stuff has some nice smelley stuff in it to make you feel better about paying 3X more than most non cholorinated cleaners.
I read where some use Mobil One to lub their guns, no doubt it will work also, hell if u have a good functioning gun, butter, bacon grease will work, but there are better things to use. I have a friend down the road that runs amsoil in his Harley. I have used Mobil V-Twin since theday they came out with it in my Harleys, but a can of gun oil will last me for years and years, so I have Hoppes. and remington, and I use the TW25 grease..
to many good lubes out there and grease to, so I try not to say what is good or bad, as most all will do better than nothing. Find what you like and just shut up about it and no one will tell u that what ur using is not right...
