I had a lot of trouble with a G19 gen4, so much so that I just sold it.

The other things I never got used to is the brick like grip and the trigger. I had hoped the gen4 grip would help and it did, but the gun was not reliable.

I have a PM9 that I really like, over 800 rounds with no failures, I have gotten use to the trigger, so I think sticking with the DA platform for concealed carry is a sound idea. I also have a S&W 642 revolver so the DA is familiar.

I have been looking at 45 ACP so the CW45, P45 and PM45 are all in the running; as well as a Ruger SR1911 and others in a 1911 platform; it is a great SA tigger on the 1911 platform.

Anyone else come over from another platform?

Interested in your ideas and experience with any of the above.

If it is not reliable and you're unable or unwilling to put the time, effort and money into making it so then it is wise to move on.

Glad you like your PM9. What's not to like considering your success with the gun?

My Glock and Kel-Tec have seen very little carry since my PM9 has been broken in and tested good to go with SD ammo. There have been and will be times when my PM9 gets a little rest. Thinking down the road that I might add a P45, CW45 or 1911 to my carry system.

Gasp! An unreliable Glock? From the way the Glock fan boys rant, how could this be?

Anyway, good luck on your search for the next pistol. (now you need to update your sig line)

I was going to say that but I have a G19 3rd g. and it has been flawless and is the most accurate semi I have ever owned, so I best just shut up . Good thing he posted that on this forum or on the Gock forum, he would now be dead and buried. Blasphemy is just not allowed over there. U can't even say that ur glock is dirty over there, at least that is what I have been told as they would never allow me to even sign on to glock talk. Probably best or I would have been gone a long time ago and probably not on my choosing either.

Kinda makes u appreciate kahr talk for u can actually say a bad thing about kahrs and still be alive and well..

^^^ain't that the truth^^^^

I just couldn't help myself with my comment about Glocks. I don't hate them but dang the way some of the Glock owners go on and on and on and on and on and on......you get the picture.

Sorry to hear about the Glock! I carry a gen3 G19 on duty and it is my baby. If you have a PM9 you have the cream of the crop! I just picked up a CM9 and love it so far. You just have to see about the niche in your collection and what you want to fill it with. CW45 is a nice IWB gun, but not pocketable like your PM9. I would go with the CW series over the P series any day-personally they are just a lil utilitarian looking and come with one mag, save your money. All good choices.

Since discovering Kahrs, my glocks seldom see the light of day. Like Jocko, they wouldn't even let me sign on to Glocktalk. I guess my reputation for speaking the truth proceeded me.

I have started to carry a Glock 36 quite a bit and I`m really bonding with it.I`m also looking for another cc.45 and I`m giving the CW 45 and a Sig 250 a hard look.My Glock 19 is a flawless gen.3 and was my first cc handgun.I have a S&W 642 that sees duty on occasion and my PM9 gets carried more than any of them.Throw in a .357 snubnose and a Browning HiPower for good measure and that just about covers it.Is that what the libs mean when they say people should be diverse?

MichSteve... I have many Kahrs, and I love them all. I have more Glocks and 6 of them are Gen 4's and I love them too. I feel that the Gen 4's are Glock's best offerings to date. You'd be hard pressed to find a better pistol than the G19 & G23 Gen 4's. If your problems were due to the recoil spring issue than you blew it when you sold it. All it was, was a minor setback with a simple solution. I don't know what trouble you had and what deemed it unreliable to you, but I would sure like to know what problems it had.
I find that a lot of shooters that bad mouth the Glock trigger have either not shot a Glock at all or have spent very little time to get to know the trigger. It's amazing how many Glock owners don't even know the Glock trigger.
Your PM9 is Kahr's best offering in polymer as far as out of the box reliability. Kahr's K and MK series are the most reliable in my book. If you end up getting another Kahr in polymer right now, depending on the model you may have exhibit some patience with it. A few of my kahrs ended up being super nice pistols , but it took a lot of patience and 3-4 trips to the factory to get them there. 1911's are a wonderful platform and my advice to you would be to get a government model (5 inch barrel) for your first one. They are the most reliable of the bunch and the easiest to shoot. The accuracy is unbelievable. Good luck in your search.

+1 My Gen 3 Glock 19 is an awesome shooter and THE most reliable semi-auto pistol I have ever owned. I have had the G19 for years now and have lost count how many rounds have been fired through it. I am hoping my Kahr CM9 is as good. So far, my Kahr has had flawless performance.

Best of luck with your choices.

Goofa, You have more patients than I do, I waited over 6 weeks with two phone calls to glock to get a #4 spring, so far no spring. Does'nt matter because the #4 does not solve the 115 fmj from jamming see the video Hickok45, he loves glock so I think his test matters.

I sold the Glock to GS for a loss, I will not be buying anymore glocks.

I put 550 rounds through the G19 gen4, and 500 or so through the G23 I had, so I think the trigger is not for me.

I thought long and hard about a Glock. No gun is perfect (except my colt 1911) and there are lemons. But, I chose a CW45. Felt amazing in my hand. .45 ACP, nuff said. Now I'm mid way on installing goodies on it which I had a thread on "modding my cw45". So far I'm looking at an XD over a Glock if I ever have the money. my S&W 6906 has served as my 9mm platform so I dont forsee a Glock in my future. Though I still think about getting one time to time....If you do get a CW45 you might consider trying to get it with night sights already or having some put on/put on yourself. IMHO. Anything so popular that everyone and their brother yaps about it (i.e. a glock) aint for me. I like timeless tried and true classics like my S&W model 10, or the 6906, or my colt 1911. *shrug* the CW45 was my first polymer pistol and I think its a great gun as long as you understand the nature of it. (shorter, tighter throat etc).

Never owned a Glock so I have no dog in this fight, but might I suggest an M&P compact 45. Before it was stolen, mine was flawless and extremely accurate. Great ergonomics too. I replaced mine with a compact M&P 40 which is just as good but easier to carry. If you are willing to spend the money the HK 45C is hard to beat.

People go on and on about Glocks because they have earned that reputation. Fanboyism may take it too far, but the Glock lineup is as good as it gets in the semi-auto world.

Absolutely.
If you're strictly talking stone cold reliability, not looks mind you, these three guys got it right:

Gaston Glock
Nikolay Makarov
Mikhail Kalashnikov :music:

personally it would be my go to gun still today and there are alof of great semi's out there. I sold um for years and never ever got one back for anything, course that was back when they only had the g17 and g19, then they like most gun companies "cluttered" up the sandbox and things started to happen...

If they made a glock 9 the size and weight and with a kahr type trigger system, I WOULD OWN ONE. I would not pocket a glock the size of my PM9 with the existing glock trigger system.

Never owned or was intersted in Glock's. I always thought a pistol should be made of steel or at least some type of metal. A friend let me shoot his CW45, and I had a change of heart, and now own 2 plastic framed guns, both Kahrs. I'm still not particularly interested in Glocks. Just as soon have a metal framed Beretta, Sig, CZ, or whatever. I have taken a look at Glocks, and they just aren't as slim oin the handle area as the Kahrs are. I do wish Kahr would come out with a metal framed .45. I'm sure Glock must be a fine weapon, since so many agencies use them, but they just never tripped my trigger.

lot of kahr guys wish the sasme for an all steel 45, but IMO, it just ain't gonna happen, for whether u wantto admit it or not, right now POLYMER RULES. except in 1911's. which other than looks never bent my crank..

IMO the difference between a 1911 single action and a double action semi auto is huge. Once you become used to the 1911 SA it will be difficult to go back to a DA Semi.
