Posted prior re this. I think it is fixed thanks to forum advice, especially gb6491 and his great sticky in KAHR-Tech CW45 (and other poly 45): issues and fixes (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1612) plus our PMs. As he says, the following information is intended to show how I / we did it. It is not intended as a “how to” article. Proceed at your own risk!

I approached problem this way - we know SS was getting knocked out, it did not fall out, and we know bullets were hitting it (copper on SS and nicked bullet). Frankly I am surprised at today's results - I was thinking I'd be replacing spring today. We'll see if problem reoccurs - if so, spring is next. At least there is no copper on it now, so maybe it won't get knocked out again.

Only thing I did was re-work the SS - did nothing with spring.

Today I fired 100 rounds of Blazer Brass in 1 hour - no FTF, no copper on re-worked SS https://mail.google.com/mail/e/B06

Used only mags 1 and 2 because those were ones with FTFs (had fired 3 and 4 about 25 rounds each prior).

Note on BB - possibility (slight ?) that BB contributed to lack of FTF. Prior to today, I fired total of 50 rounds of it out of 403 with both slide stops and no FTFs.

I'm up to 503 rounds. Here's recap of first 403 rounds. I think the interval data is important - longest was 93, all others 55 or less. With no FTFs in 100 rounds today, I'm hopeful all is well.

FTF @ rounds 22, 57, 77, 92, 185, 190, 195, 245, 300, 320, 335, 360, 370
Interval 35, 20, 15, 93, 5, 5, 50, 55, 20, 15, 25, 10
All FTFs with REM and WIN ammo, all with round 2 in mag.

Talked with my gun friend at the range post shoot and told him I thought AOK and would not mess with spring (unless further problem) - he agreed.

Attaching pix of my re-worked slide stop - both before and after.

Good deal. Its seems just a tiny bit additional clearance helps immensely. Prior to replaceing the spring if it comes to that I'd surely try just snugging it down a tiny bit. It's seems like you've found the cure. Hope its good to go for the long haul now.

As long as it holds open with perfection.... you're all set
