Finally got to the range with the new P380. Ordered it back in December and just took delivery of it a week ago so Im guessing the RC serial number is very recent production and that they worked out the bugs.
The first fifty rounds of flat nose WWB worked flawlessly. ZERO malfunctions.
The next 25 rounds of Federal AE also produced zero malfunctions. Over the course of the next 25, it failed to return to battery about 5 times. 2 of those I was able to use my thumb to push the slide forward. The other 3 I did the tap, rack, bang drill.
Over the course of a 50 rd box of remington, it failed to return to battery another 10 times, increasing in frequency as I went along. The majority of which I was able to use my thumb to push the slide forward back to battery. I'm sure it had something to do with the gun being dirty and also the fact that I stopped using it for a while to try out a new S&W 9mm 3914 and then switching back to the bug.
Gonna try another 100 rds next week, but wont bring any other pistols along.
Thoughts ? I'm guessing a good cleaning and more rounds downrangewill loosen it up.

look up the kahr tech section and hit on the kahr lube chart. it is a dandy....
Clean it up, some oil on the points of reference in the Kahr manual and use some good WWB 95gr ball.
The UMC/Rem is usually underpowered (in all calibers) but will work after a good break-in. Check the Tech Section as jocko mentioned to loosen it up also.

100% vote for dirty gun. If it came out of the box and went 75 straight, that's pretty darned good. What did you do before you took it to the range-did you clean it, lube it, polish the feed ramp, etc?
the failure to go into battery is due to a dirty and/or rough feedramp. If it's polished really smooth it takes alot longer for a ramp that's just dirty to cause failure to go into battery.

Mine did the same thing for a while. It happenned more with the Remington more than any other. Kahr sent me new recoil springs and it hasn't done it since. I also ordered a spare set just in case it happens again. I did polish the feed ramp with wet/dry up to 1200 grit and polish with a dremel as well.

Sounds dirty to me - When mine has "had enough" it is usually hot and at around 100 rounds since cleaning. I was geting very slight failure to go into battery which sometimes has a light primer strike.
I found that grease did not work well - I finally started using the Mil-Tech Kahr recommends and it works good but I also use some light synthetic gun oil. Mine was very tight with very close tolerances - any dirt gets in the way.

I agree with TominCA, mine needs to be clean, and oil, not grease, on the slides. After 75 rounds or so, it starts to act up, I quit, clean and lube, good to go. Not a high round range gun. I use Hoppes gun oil, have found the P380 likes to be clean and well lubed. Mine is now one of my carry weapons, along with the CW9.

Here's a follow up.
Back to the range last week.
Another 100 rounds of WWB. FLAWLESS !!!!!
Tried some SD ammo.
7 rounds magtech guardian gold +P ammo. zero malfunctions.
14 rounds Remington Gold Sabre. zero malfunctions.
7 Rounds speer gold dot. 1 failure to return to battery. ( the gun was filthy at this point)
Topped it off with 25 rounds lawman FMJ just to get more rounds downrange and had 5-6 more fail to return to battery. I'm convinced it was due to gun being very dirty.
I now have confidence in this gun and have been carrying with the Remington Golden Sabre ammo. Next trip to the range I plan on going through a box of Speer Gold dot, as that is my preferred 9MM SD ammo. Will also try some Pow'R Ball, recommended by Jocko. Anybody have any experience with Winchester Bonded PDX1 ammo ?
Side note. The gun is RC serial numbered and has 2 torque screws on right side of frame
