Hi all,

I just thought i would post up a couple of pictures and report back on how my brand new CW9 performed at the range this afternoon....

First off, further to my first post regarding the break in schedule, i followed Jocko's cleaning to a 'T' and had the gun all ready to go. I used the dechlorinated brake cleaner followed by Tetra gun oil... and proceeded to manually rack the slide 3-400 times.

Then it was time to hit the range! ;)

Here is the first 40 rounds at 10-12 yards, modified weaver stance... Sellier & Belliot 9mm ammo:

I then started to play around with distance as well as quick follow up shots etc... just wanted to see what the point of aim was and how it handled the ammo:

Second set of rounds.... 15+yards... 9mm S & B ammo:

And finally i decided to do some one handed (Right and left) to see how it felt recoil wise, i also decided to do some 20+yard shooting to see how the sights out of the box worked with my own technique:

The accuracy out of the box was very good to be honest, the sights are a little different than i am used to but they were useful. The gun was easy to handle and the recoil was good i.e. not excessive, considering the gun is so slight in nature!

I fired off 150 rounds of Sellier & Belliot 9mm ammo with zero ftf, zero fte and no magazine issues. The slide release was smooth and the magazine felt secure but smooth also on both release and insertion. All in all a very good range visit and reinforced my decision to purchase the CW9 as my EDC! No doubt in no small thanks to the very detailed and impressive 'prep' per Jocko....

Good report on the CW9. The gun and you will get even better with it the more rounds through it.

? - Why the pad lock on the gun in the pics?

thanks.....

The padlock is just a trigger guard that came with it, its just for added security incase the kids are snooping and for some reason the safe is open etc...

Yea, can't be too careful with kids around.

Good range report and good shooting.

I see you've got something like a Hogue grip on your gun, would you say it helped muchg in reducing felt recoil and in tightening your groups?

nice report, very nice shooting, the gun will smooth out even more with rounds down range. Good report, just shoot it like u stole it.

It's fitted with Hogue Juniors, they make it much more comfortable and more ergonomic to hold. It definitely reduces the famous 'cheese grater' affect while making it feel more secure. For $13 or whatever it was, it's definitely a nice upgrade and one that inspires confidence!

Good shooting! I might have to look into one of those Hogue Juniors grip for my CW9. I start feeling it after 100 or so rnds.

i have the crimson trace! i like it but when you let people shoot your gun they look at the laser instead of the sights. i was taught to sight the laser just behind the front sight so if you were to tip the muzzle slightly upward you should see it. What i have done is sight it to where there is a halo around the front sight but cannot see the dot. Maybe im wrong but thats how i shoot my cw9 lol, which btw ive never had a single problem with and shes got almost a thousand rounds through it!

Very impressive and thorough report. Thanks.
Just curious, did you practice firing 6+1 with the standard flush baseplate? The carry configuration.
I pick up my new CM9 tomorrow.

roger P9, don't dissapoint us tomorrow with a bad report on the now perfect cm9'. IMo probably the nicest gun kahr has introduced since the PM9.

LOL No sir! That's why I'm back again, there's just too much to like about these Kahr pistols.
My disappointment last year was enough for me. That's history.
Still can't figure why I was having those trigger reset issues only in a 7+1 in the pipe set up. (with the standard mag)
Anyway, that's in the past and believe me, I don't want any disappointments either.
Tomorrow won't be range day cause of course I'm gonna go through the whole pre-flight thing like any good Kahr owner does. :D
Then I pick up my new CW45 the following week. :D:D
