Was lookin' on the Kahr website - Kahr in the movies pages - and it occurred to me - they're all K models, no polymer ones at all.

I wonder why? Maybe they can't get 'em to function with movie blanks?

I would be willing to bet it is more about aesthetics than anything else. The all metal guns look a lot better. That being said I own 3 polymer Kahrs and no metal ones.

In the imfdb.org database, there's a reference to a P9 on a TV show, link:

I'm with P95. The all metal guns just look cooler. I'm surprised they use Kahr's at all actually. Kahr prefers you to use the slide lock release to chamber the first round. Hollywood has a strict policy of sling-shotting a round into the chamber right before you kick the door in. Bonus points for sling-shotting more than once.

Hollywood is all sex appeal and appearance, therefore the appropriate choice would be the sexiest Kahr available... the K9 with wood grips. ;)

That looks good with the metal base plate.

Love the all metal kahrs, but to carry them is another story.

They are heavy! I carry mine iwb in a Remora. So far so good. I can carry all day but you will notice the weight some towards the end of the day.
You better have one good gun belt to support the weight if you carry owb..

Heavy, its like carrying a old school cell phone... like the ones on saved by the bell. The only good thing about the steel kahrs is you can throw them when they are empty and knock the perp out.

I agree that they're heavy for their size. I've had 5 Kahrs, all polymer. If fact of my eleven current active pistols, none have a steel frame. The 1911s and the 3rd gen S&W are aluminum alloy and the rest are polymer. The CW40 has become my favorite OWB carry gun because it's about five ozs lighter than the M&P compact 40, the STI compact 1911, or the S&W CS45.

I see more Glocks in TV and movies than any other. It can't be about aesthetics. :D
